  1. Jess - the toilets are not that bad - cleaned regularly, usually have loo roll. Main stage area - facing the stage, behind the bar, right at the back - quite nice loos

    Security Search into campsite

Everyone is searched, some selected for more in-depth exploration. Bags opened, bottoms of bags felt for hard objects (bottles). Food ok. A couple of plastic bottles of unopened water - usually ok.

    Floating Bridge No6

Hey folks - what's the situation with this now? Is it running? Is it reliable - we need to get a car across? I've heard it's now tide dependent. Thanks ever so.

Sam - many thanks - this is fantastic - I've used your clashfinder before and it's a massive help. Liam (Laim) will be upset with you tho'.... Or was that intentional.....!

That sounds good if it happens. Not that fussed on the Killers so would probably leave part-way thro and catch Travis

Are the Killers closing out the fest? Travis, if they're in the tent, would normally finish at the same time as the headline act, or pretty soon after - not starting as the main headliner finishes?

There'll be loads more bands - something for every taste pretty much, you won't be disappointed. And yes - lots of distractions as well. If there's 18 of you - you'll have a hoot!
  9. There's a decent Lidl on the outskirts of Newport... we walk in to town, stop off and get snacks and supplies (they have a decent sushi selection....) and a couple of bottles of water - about 11p each. With screw tops....
  10. and then lots of old buggers in their 50s and 60s - mostly locals.... Henrik - I resemble that remark (not a local though)! I think the IoW is a good all-round festival - the age spread does, I think, add to the charm! Not the best line-up this year - but nowhere near as bad as R&L!

Havors - how do you know that the tickets are not shifting? Not that I want them to sell out really - I'd prefer an undersold fest - more room / space / smaller queues etc! Very selfish I know!

Quite looking forward to Van the man, Kasabian and Depeche Mode. I'll have to tolerate Liam unfortunately. Their 2009 V Weston was not good, not good at all. Quite disrespectful for the fans who went particularly to see Oasis I'll be checking out the clash finder to find an alternative to the perennial Killers though... I'm sure the undercard will be varied - something for everyone - quite looking forward to the drip, drip, drip.... Have to agree - ELO / Muse / Roger Waters / Bruce would have changed this from good to excellent / outstanding (Bruce). No doubt - if the weather is good - it'll be another fantastic weekend and I'm really looking forward to it!

Will they announce all the headline acts for the weekend or do they drip feed for a couple of weeks? Personally, DM would be good. Pink Floyd would be quite exceptional. A good mix is always nice.

Shame... would have been a great headliner, absolute sellout.

Just a thought.... Eric Clapton on the Sunday? (along with Depeche Mode on the Saturday) No insider info with this by the way. Just a thought....
