  1. I'm fine. Go ahead and tell us flags in front of the stage aren't the problem again - that was a good one 🤣
  2. What a load of pussyfooting tripe You're basically saying a direct view of the stage, the back of stage screen, being able to see the performers on the stage etc is only worth having if you're in the pit. In your world the pyramid stage field slope is surplus too (so long as you can see a screen) This is so untrue and I would strongly make the case that the loss of that direct view of the stage is a detriment to the audience experience way back up the field. I haven't been in the pit for a busy show for years and I can assure you I've thought the curtain of flags blocking my view of the stage are an annoying travesty to the live show experience for years too. It's like an 'Emperors new clothes' joke
  3. I can remember a couple of times having to deal with a horny gazebo trying to mount my tent
  4. I think the camera crews start work at 1.30 iirc It was a real shame Kikagaku Moyo's last ever show (but one) on West Holts went unrecorded last year
  5. No...that was another Michael Fish
  6. Maybe, but the data doesn't offer much confidence about that, there are 10yr periods of no warming and even cooling trend - see 2002-2012 in the graph you posted for example. Such as it is with the high variability in the obs at the local level. I've argued with global warming deniers for too long to be extrapolating from small sample sizes like glastonburys since 2016.
  7. High inter-annual variability isn't what I'm getting from your posts
  8. The data shows high inter-annual variability - the trend emerges at the decadal scale.
  9. Deanol clearly isn't a denier You've chosen mean temps - should have used daily max temps. The graph shows a decadal warming trend but with HIGH inter-annual variability. Consistent with variability increasing the further down the global/regional/local scale you go
  10. The ideal for tuesday/wednesday is different to the rest of the weekend ideally there would would be the 'threat' of tuesday/wednesday downpours - this will make some people delay their journey, queue's will be easier. On wednesday ideally the rain would be minimal - just overcast such that queuing in the open isn't uncomfortable (because heavy rain or relentless sun) and the hauling of gear and setting up camp is completed with minimal persperation.
  11. ha, see you there doogie Yep so am I - so I usually swap to an EE payg sim at the fest
  12. EE saying they'll still be the bestest here https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Mobile-Network-discussions/EE-Coverage-at-Glastonbury-2023/td-p/1254527
  13. Thanks frosty, I'll give it a whirl and let you know how I get on. I've been cutting down on the fags using 'will power' - with moderate success - but bearded theory showed festivals are my downfall. Time to give vaping a try
  14. Just one more nod from you that you rate it as a good one to try and I'll order one of those. It'll be my first ever vape - no pressure 😉
  15. What's it like getting the battery out of these things - is it like electric toothbrushes that you have to smash to bits?
  16. At home they're classed as e-waste and and you're supposed to take them to a recycling centre and leave them in an e-waste bin (haha yeah right - probably hardly ever happens). Maybe they'll have an e-waste bin at the recycling centre on site in which case they should go in the recycling bins?
  17. If you see one on the floor at glasto, what's the best the thing to do with it?
  18. ....albeit wrong about Interpol 😄
  19. Great review, by David Vass. https://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/beardedtheory/2023/bearded-theory-festival-review-2023.shtml
  20. To add to the high praise for an excellent Bearded Theory 2023, I really enjoyed photographing it this year - that is apart from stereotypically overdoing it on thursday and twisting my knee in the woodlands! Pics now online here: https://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/beardedtheory/2023/galleries.shtml
  21. How come there isn't a welcome arch on the campsite entrance? My nose is well put out by that
  22. That'll be plenty warm enough if the sun comes out - wear suncream Night temps a bit on the chilly side - wear beer duvet No longer bracing for a muddy one - wearing boots anyway
  23. Well if someone on facebook says so...
  24. So expect stewards shouting 'you shall not pass!" at us when vehicles are coming through 😉
