Speaking as a foreigner. I think it's huge exposure for the UK - not really for anywhere else in Europe. Yes, it's completely legendary. Yes, IMO it's the best fucking thing since the wheel was invented, but I think people overblow that it's some globally significant thing.
Roskilde in particular is a rite-of-passage thing in Denmark. Kids start going when they're 15, and go back for the rest of their lives. Kids who would have started going a few years ago have missed out two years in a row. Some of my mates in CPH have been going every year for almost 25 years now (I'm pushing 40 now).
I love them both, but I think GM edges it slightly for me. The size, for me, is perfect.
I usually do the Glastonbury-GM-EOTR trifecta. Would be great if GM was late July.
Haha, I did that first day - then just walked out in my undies the other couple of times. Nice to give the ladies a bit of eye candy too, no?
Should have a changing room tent out front a la Green Man.
Also was shocked at how the ladies' queue at the showers was invariably way shorter than the gents!
What was the story with all the young Indian dudes serving in the bars? Don't mean this in a negative way whatsoever, just curious how they all ended up there? Had some great cricket chats!
Impressive that Dry Cleaning were that good when you couldn't even hear the vocals, which are a huge part of the band's shtick! Will have to check them out on tour.
Saw her for a bit at Green Man at midday Saturday, was walking past in the pissing rain maniacally searching for a bacon roll; had to stop and listen for a while - excellent.
Coach from GM back to London was an unmasked free-for-all, people coughing and spluttering the whole way back. Didn't get Covid though.
Imagine being an anti-vaxxer.
