  1. I wanted Stevie Nicks tickets today and Nick Cave but knew I couldn't afford both. Got 2 Cave tickets for 70 quid each at the old Manchester Arena in the pre sale.... Stevie Nicks wanted 200 quid for a seat in the gods at this new money pit arena in Manchester. with the 60 quid booking fee and other fees and fees on your fees the price for 2 tickets was ..... £469. oh and if you want a few drinks after the gig you can pay for their after gig party - £40 quid each but you do get one drink included in that... bargain.

    The world has gone mad.

    ps there are lots of tickets left

    I forget the name but whatever used to be Kasbah on the walk up to West Holts was great this year. Playing a lot of music during the night. Had a great night there before heading to Sensation Seekers for Wheel of Four Tunes.

    I ended up there! it was good fun! Def going to do a wheel of 4 tunes myself sometime!

  3. Another place I thought was great was the Croissant neuf café.. we spend a good hour in there in Thursday eating a massive  meal with loads of fresh salad on CROCKERY!!! really nice food and vibe and only a pound for a juice.

    Damnit! My friend took a picture of this stall and when he was walking past and we forgot to go back. Had Yassa for the first time a few months ago and its deeelicious!

    ive  found a recipe and I am making it this weekend!! ha ha

  5. Stumbled across a "Chicken Yassa" late one night.. couldn't tell you where it was but it was bloody lovely!!! I didn't even know what a chicken yassa is but now I do and will be finding another. Its Senegalese.

  6.  probably had my best glastonbury ever this year, lack of mud helped a lot and also being on the East side. Walking down through the circus fields every day was brilliant - always something going on. Had a 5 and 10 year old with me and they fully embraced it.

    my gripes are;

    Late night music - all sounds the same and does it really need to be that loud until 5am!

    The pass out thing to the van campsite is a bit rubbish - i was so worried about losing my ticket/passout.

    Entitled Millennials. urgh. just running through a crowd and stepping on kids because they want a good spot. We were watching Mik Artistik on Thursday at Croissant Neuf on Thursday and a big group just came and stood right in front of us and went on for about 10 minutes because they had lost their mate ( at croissant neuf field!!??) and proceeded to keep shouting her name RAE RAE!!! Mik Artistik is an act you need to actually listen to. They just had no awareness that anyone around them was trying to listen.

    Lack of urinals near the other stage ( right had side) which meant men had to queue for toilets too and queues were horrendous there. Try telling a 5 year old to hold it for 20 minutes!

    I also think if they crammed less food stalls and shops in the walkways would be a lot easier to get down in the really busy areas. when places had big queues you were contained to the metal path and when its really hard work especially with a pram if you are trying to go against the flow.

    People openly pissing in the crowd waiting for Elton. I saw women who were  wearing other stage and pyramid stage work lanyards who all crowded round each other pissing on the floor. We were right by the toilets as well.

    It was so impossible to get out where I was and I had kids with me. I ended up wetting myself! Didn't want to but there was nothing I could do!!

    How about a single thread to accumulate any and all the things you don't like about Glastonbury. Will save clogging the thread line with too many individual moaner threads.

    Keep comments pithy / brief. I'll start, and may add more. I'm thinking about things that Glasto could do something about

    F***ing flags

    Reverse slope at Acoustic tent

    Lack of one way/left rights at main pinch points

    Lack of something other than dance music after hours

    Yes! Re the dance music. I said this too. I dont want to listen to that!!

    Obviously you've not heard of the "Hill of Death" then 🫢

    I have.... but dont know where it is!! Last time i stayed in the other camper field near the Other stage.

  10. I have a ticket for the quiet campervan field this year - has anyone stayed there? What should I expect!!

    I am coming with 2 kids and am hoping its quite close to the entrance and not too hilly!

  11. Nothing particularly excites me but as I am taking my kids this year that's probably for the best as I wouldn't be able to see everything I wanted to anyway. Not interested in the "legend" this year. Will be good to have a wander and find some random stuff on the smaller stages.

  12. I am taking the kids this year and they are too big for prams now so praying its not a really muddy one - no idea how they will cope!! its hard work for me to walk all those miles in it - imagine what it will be like for a 5 year old. Doesn't bear thinking about.

  13. I am taking a 5 and 10 year old.. the 10 year old is in her final year will have done her sats and has had about 4 days off in her whole time at school. She wont be doing much in that last term of primary school anyway so this is probably our last chance to take them as I probably wouldn't take her out of high school.

    I have told the school - they couldn't respond officially saying its ok but the few teachers that I have seen after sending the notification have said - dont blame you and have a great time but I cant quote that on record!

    This is what I e mailed to their teachers;

    "Just to let you know that we will be taking G and H out of school for Glastonbury this year (21st – 26th June). We know it won’t be approved by school but we do believe it is a very worthwhile and educational experience for them and we would prefer to take G out now rather than when she is at high school. G will miss her last school trip but we will take her to the museum beforehand so she can join in with any work afterwards.  We have never taken the children out of school for a holiday but Glastonbury is more than that, it is an amazing opportunity for children and so much more than what is seen on the television. It is a cultural event where they will learn not only about music but also environmental and social issues, crafts, circus skills and will build up lots of resilience if it’s a muddy one! It will be a character building experience for them and we will do what we can to help them catch up with anything they miss."
