ooft nice one- how much did you get on? I swear they limit it to 20 quid max bet now which is another thing that stops you making much off it

I think it was just over £40 so easily paid for ticket and beer money

nothing there at all which seems worth the money. I think like 10 years ago you could make decent money off those markets but no longer. I seem to remember back when Metallica headlined, people here made cash on it cause it was known on here. The bookies have caught up now tho i think.

That 6/1 on Kasabian paid for my festival that year and then some!

The whole thing about the Sunday bill having to be suitable for the locals is a myth, as evident last year when Kendrick closed the Pyramid.

I'm sure there was a thing in 2004(?) where some of the locals weren't exactly thrilled that Muse were the headliners on Sunday as a heavier than usual act? Although agree, whilst most Sunday headliners are generally more safe I'm guessing winning over the locals isn't as much as a thing as it might have been before.

Because actual human people live around there (the noise from the festival travels a considerable distance because of the sheer scale of it) and the festival needs to keep those people on side. If you start pissing off the local community that's when the trouble really starts in terms of licensing and crackdowns.

Hell hath no fury like a NIMBY at a licensing meeting 😄

Wow, that crowd at wet leg looks ginormous. Seems bigger than any park crowd I have ever been in!

    If that's not a line-up misplacement then I don't know what is.

Blimey the Pyramid could have kicked off with something a bit more jolly than Rufus.

Right WetLeg Park stage for me, apparently its rammo

Park looks very busy! Also a big fan of the curtain tassles on guitars.
