    Volunteering 2023

It's a bit like a safety belt in a car. 99.99% of the time it's useless but you do want one for that 00.01%... As a future resident of Sticklinch I appreciate the safety belt you and your team will provide!

    Volunteering 2023

I thought I'd randomly go and ask if they had their blood sugar levels checked recently.
  3. I think we should start our own wellness program an "Fitness > weight". But yes, let's all be very gentle on our bodies until next week! I received an email that I need to do some cycling before the end of the month for some environmental program I'm helping this summer (logging bat sound) and am SO doing this AFTER the festival. At least it will take my mind of the post Glasto Blues.
  4. Yes sounds familiar. I still have that pain in my hip from overestimating what my body could do on Friday (knee next to ear? Push all body up in one swift move? Yeah go for it! Not...) so have just put a stop to anything more than having a nice long flat stroll.

If that means the Sticklinch crowd can come and bring you a snack and beverage then maybe I'll do just that 🙂
  6. Around BBC introducing last year but indeed bit of a mistery. I can't believe how much the app could be improved, as I've just been browsing it a bit more to find this and the distance between temple and Truth...

    Rum Anyone

I think I read somewhere yes to ginger ale but no to ginger beer 😞
  8. There's a facebook group for that. Look for event "GLastonbury Thursday 5K run". Sorry I can't link it now but you should find it. Edited to add it's at 9am so probably a bit earlier than you'd like. But there's another one at 10 am from Greenpeace apparently. Run & Rave
  9. That's it 🙂 If you can do cartwheels at 46 then honestly that beats losing 30 kilos in terms of achievement! On topic, just pushed myself to go and jog 5 k at 8 am today. The heat is killing me but I am worried that if I stop I won't start again. I do have a weird pain on top of my hip because I tried a too enthusiastic move climbing last Friday so I am trying to find the right balance between exercise and not hurting myself before next week. * off to check what kind of muscle I hurt *
  10. By the way @philipsteak do you remember you promised to go and streak behind Lauren Laverne during a live BBC broadcast if you'd get the diabetes down right?
  11. Congratulations ! Philipsteak 1 - Diabetes 0 -78!
  12. Nice to hear from you Alvoram! It has up and downs and the fact that you think long term is better than what a couple months up or down do. I think Glasto is a freebee in terms of eating or drinking, unless you camp at the Pyramid stage the whole day on a lounge chair.
  13. I went yesterday morning and was shocked when the app lady informed me of my speed for the first 10 mn. Then I hit the forest and it got much better 🙂 I was hoping to get to my next milestones before next week but with those temperatures I am not sure I'll manage, or it will be the day before leaving for the fest!
  14. You're too good. He stays home. You go.
  15. How's your leg massage machine?
  16. A couple of hours is a bit much really. OP won't have luggage so walking will take maybe half an hour.
  17. I have that one too. I am sure I'll choose the wrong one.
  18. You know I did doubt on that one but the area is still called Williams Green I think? And I confess I am not convinced yet about this Carhenge thing 😉
  19. Yes walking is fine, stop once or twice for a drink or a bite, no problem. We did it last year with our backpacks. The shuttle takes surprisingly long, + waiting time so unless knackered/carrying much I'd go for that too.
  20. Ok you win the medal of the biggest achievement of this thread. Respect. Did you keep everything in ? 😉
  21. Both stats are quite impressive!
  22. OK a little 2023 update. Mostly cosmetic but I reduced a couple of distances. Remember it's estimates and that roundings may make look things funny, but it's more readable than 4.625 and 5.365 minutes this way. First, the average one, then the up tempo one, and finally the nightmare scenario.
  23. Congrats on the target! I haven't just/just not managed to lose a stone but am about to finalize my run 7.5 km training so definitely a plus. And some of my summer outfits I definitely couldn't fit in last year fit now like a glove. In terms of hikes Norway is AWESOME. So many and even the less popular ones, random go up a mountain from a village ones, two hours hikes are beautiful. May is great because there are barely tourists as soon as you leave the big known spots. We avoided the rain by changing our plans as needed so as good as a summer trip!
  24. Finally caught up with Succession. I am ... satisfied with that ending. Massive B-storyline HA! from me on Karolina getting Hugo his due (hopefully that's not too much of a spoiler). Otherwise still have to catch up with Yellowjackets. That season 2 is just not really where it should be. And Mrs Davies, very fun, and Class of 07, another fun show. (one needs some fun after the utter darkness of Succession)
