  1. Good detective skills. I've just tried guessing another half dozen names without any luck yet.
  2. Pretty disappointing lineup all round for me this year. There's a good few bands I'll happily watch but not one I'm particularly excited about. Outbreak seem to have nicked a lot of the names I was hoping for (e.g. Basement, Touche Amore, TWIABP, Nothing etc.)

    Olivia Rodrigo

I got a last minute code too, and managed to get through the queue but only 'platinum' charity tickets were left. I was reluctantly willing to drop £400 to take the family, but not £900.
  4. I would have liked to have seen Aaron West in the Forest but it's Narrow Head for me at that time. The only other decision for me on Thursday is between Skindred and ASIWYFA, but I'll see which way the wind takes me on the day.
  5. Yep, just added to Download. I thought the same about Gaslight Anthem when I saw those US dates announced. A European festival run seems likely and they seem a good fit for a Trees headliner.
  6. Just looking at the Rock Werchter line up for any clues (week before Trees). Touche Amore? City & Colour? Pup and/or Nova Twins again?
  7. Yep, not blown away, but I think enough there for me to get a ticket. Hundred Reasons, Rival Schools, Wonder Years, Pitchshifter, ASIWYFA, Joyce Manor, Microwave, Big Spring, and I'm sure there will be more. Anyone know when campervan tickets go on sale? With the next batch?
  8. 151k arriving Wednesday night and leaving Sunday night. That walk to CV East and back each day will account for half of that.
  9. 🤚 Was feeling a exhausted from Saturday. Went home Sunday night, and woke up with a cough and sure enough... positive. Third time in 6 months. Surely that's my lot for a while.
  10. Are there ever big queues for the lockups? I'm camping up in the campervan field so it's a real trek (and waste of time) to go back during the day. I'm therefore thinking I'll make use of the lockups more this year. I'll probably take my old Eastpak Pakr and carry it round during the day with a few beers etc, and drop it off at the lockup near Gate C when I've had enough of carrying it or I want to go into the crowd for a band.
  11. Illuminati Hotties at The Jericho Tavern in Oxford last night was great fun, and better live than I expected. The support, Ducks Ltd, were good too and better than on record, although it got a bit samey. Interesting mix of nerdy uni kids and weird old men like me in attendance.
  12. After deliberating for ages, I went for this one... https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/self-inflating-camping-mattress-comfort-65-cm-1-person/_/R-p-142436 It's pretty thin, but I reckon I'll still prefer it to an airbed. I'm sure thicker ones would be better, but they get pretty expensive, even more so if you want a double. This one is pretty small and light when packed away.
  13. I've spent the last week or two making lists, so thought I'd better start acting on it. Received a Decathlon order this morning including self inflating mat, welly insoles (won't need those), and lantern. I also had an Amazon voucher burning a hole in my virtual pocket, so just ordered a sleep mask, rehydration tablets and a portable urinal (a pot to piss in). Also got a bottle of Red Leg to decant at a later date.
  14. I think a lot of that is down to how music is consumed these days. In 1998, unless your parents had Led Zeppelin records in the house, teenagers weren't listening to them. Anyone can listen to Oasis if they want these days, and have never really left the mainstream.
  15. At my first Reading Festival in '98, there were some old guys called Page & Plant headlining (we had no interest in watching at the time), and that must be how teenagers see the likes of the Gallaghers now.
