  1. LCD are headlining a 15k festival in Bristol that’s nearly sold out btw… idles sold out in seconds their recent tours (including the 7k Cardiff arena). pulp WAYYYY above both and have previously headlined. They aren’t travis, ash or skunk Anansie…
  2. Radiohead didn’t in 2011 either? That’s not really a logical argument… also they only reformed last year…
  3. *they’re also did the working class thing before Arctic monkeys did and from the same city (been going since 1982). And check out how he stood up to Michael Jackson’s Jesus thing at the brits for a biiiiig clue. 😉 also, why every year? (Maybe because they’re popular and have now reformed?) and the cure headlined 2019, why again so soon??
  4. So a hit is defined on sales or chart positions? Dolly Parton (a legend and long sought after headliner) her signature song is 9-5 and guess what? It never even broke the top 40 in the uk. Bryan Adams (someone who could easily be a legend and surprised he’s never even played) summer of 69? That charted BELOW 9-5 a few years later. Possibly his signature song too. As someone else said, the cure were brought it as an 4th time headliner to match Coldplay and maybe even influence the younger generations. They haven’t released anything new since the 90s (despite threatening to drop a new at any moment), Pulp recently reformed just like bout did in 2009 but (at the time) without any new material and very successfully headlined. It’s got nothing to do with me being stuck in the 90s. If you knew me I’d be saying for years Kendrick Lamar would headline and he did. Liam Gallagher could easily headline Glastonbury, yeah it would be oasis dominated songs but he pulls a huge crowd and did at both his glasto appearances (in fact he was “special guest” as it was negotiated he shouldn’t be that low on the bill but was literally just starting out as well as when beady eye were the first “secret act” to open the other, a tradition that has now become a thing). Noel unfortunately couldn’t as his solo stuff has gone off the boil for the masses. Once is a huge anthem from Liam’s solo albums. Whether he will remains to be seen but how the Gallaghers have orchestrated this split and the will they won’t they reform argument is very clever to keep them fresh. Pulp on hiatus was a similarly clever move. Same with Blur. Same with Radiohead. It worked for Suede too, but unfortunately Suede will never ever headline the pyramid. other pyramid headliners? Depeche Mode (surprised this hasn’t yet happened), Duran Duran (legends), Erasure (legends), Abba (if this ever happened wow - the perfect headliners!), Fleetwood Mac (if theyre still a thing and they weren’t so greedy - also the perfect headliners), Mariah Carey (legend), AcDc (if this year isn’t their last), iron maiden (they won’t ever play though), chilli peppers (banned forever), green day (surprised this hasn’t yet happened), Beyoncé (for a second go), Eminem (won’t ever happen), Eagles (if they came down on price I think Michael would die happy and tried to book them once before), Take That (headliners or legends), spice girls (headliners or legends), Stevie nicks (legend - would be mostly covers though), grace jones (legend or west holts headliner), Taylor swift (now owes the festival), Raye (bound to happen next year), Rihanna (next year), Madonna (been saying this years now and was disappointed her and her people didn’t compromise this year - hope they do in future), Carole king (legend), Billy Joel (legend or headliner). Celine Dion? (Outside possibility as a legend…), Dionne Warwick (legend), Cher (legend). any others?
  5. Joined here as this guy seems to think he’s important and then insults etc (and can’t spell there or their) and is unaware of the previous Pulp discussion on this forum as well as the one he’s been digging on that lead to here. Neither forum are more important than the other anyway… One hit wonders??? 🤣🤣🤣. They’ve headlined twice before, they deserve a third time and would blow the youngsters away. Liam could also headline solo. Blur will be back one day. But back to pulp. They’ve sold out every date they’ve done on the reformed gigs and headlined plenty of festivals too (albeit slightly smaller). Imagine their one hits… disco 2000, sorted for Es and whiz, sunrise, mishapes, something changed, babies, do you remember the first time and that lesser know song common people on the pyramid singalongs! Brilliant stuff. That’s what glasto is!! A uk festival with the biggest acts of the moment and a nostalgia act too. Streaming is very misleading.

    2024 Headliners

    Madonna, Pulp, Rihanna. Legend: Mariah or Barbara
  7. Black uhuru would have been good. Distinct lack of reggae on that lineup so far.
  8. Diana Ross is still missing from Sunday as confirmed and Kendrick is TBC
  9. Pughga

    WOMAD 2022

    @eFestivalsthe line has been announced… last week…
  10. Foals are a strong rumour for the other stage headliners too.
  11. What is going on with the lineup on here?? Macca is a TBC for Saturday on the pyramid and Noel G will be on before him. One of the worlds biggest solo artists and former beatle who has previously headlined would not be relegated to the other stage on a Friday. 😂 also none of the officially confirmed acts (Dianna Ross, Billie Eilish, Little Simz) are not marked as such and Ross is on Sunday, the day isn’t listed either? Haim should also be a TBC since they self confirmed recently.
