  1. I was in west holts still feeling great from the the Third World set, eating excellent fish and chips if i recall correctly. Whilst also being somewhat bemused by Jacob Collier. Duracell Bunny has nothing on him 😀
  2. Well this has been a splendid week. Two tickets at Anfield and now two at Wembley. That is two daughters birthday presents (+1’s) sorted for this year 😀. Just need to figure out what to get child 3 who thankfully isn’t bothered about TS….
  3. Interesting - on ticketmaster if you select seats for example - it offers up the most expensive (£182 for Edinburgh) and if youu decline them and ask again after 4 searches it chucks you out claiming ‘ a bad connection’. I was trying to see if could get the cheaper seats. And it chucks you out to the back of the queue. I was doing some prep for Liverpool tomorrow.
  4. It’s interesting to read every one above, i am a relative newcomer compared to many but as i started late i am 63. Have done 10 since 2009, missing 2015, and i remember vividly in 2009 having a chat with an older guy, well into his 70’s, who was in an electric 4 wheel motability scooter. He said he had been going since the 80’s, and i got the impression he was from a traveller background. I spoke about how it had been an ambition for many years to go and i was quite overwhelmed about how it felt to be there at last. I just loved it from the moment I arrived on site. He said he still came with his family even though he was struggling with getting around now, and he said something about the ‘spirit’ of Glastonbury is derived and exists because of the people - their attitude and behaviour. That has nothing to do with age, which is a number, it’s how you feel and behave. That’s how i see it. I will be going as long as i am contributing by enjoying it and caring about what happens to the festival. And i will hold out getting Worthy View/Sticklinch/glamping for as long as i can. I want to be ‘in’ the festival. But i understand completely the reasons why people choose other options.

    young fathers

I’m not so sure about that. Underneath that fearsome presentation and amazing drumming is some real musicianship - rhythm and melodies that come through. I think if they continue developing from the last album they will smash it. The field was rocking last Friday. No reason it can’t be replicated.
  6. See you in Castlefield. Looking forward to it. Hope the rain pisses off……….🤐
  7. This - first time seeing them live and they were outstanding.
  8. Surprised that the two veggie cafes in Croissant Neuf are not mentioned. Both have outstanding breakfasts (even when i am not a veggie), and in one of them served on an actual proper plate with knives and forks, and coffee served in mugs if desired. Patas bravas (or roasties), eggs, herby tomatoes and mushrooms, and bread, for £11 if i recall correctly. And you get to sit down at a table. Top banana.
  9. 1. Young fathers 2. Reg 3. Third World
  10. This year does seem to be back to ‘normal’, very busy on Weds and Thurs cos of few acts to disperse the crown. But it didn’t feel as busy as last year. Today will be the tester. I am at west holts waiting for Yaya Bey and it’s nicely busy but easy to find a bench. Looking good.
  11. Thnx. Actually moving now. Gonna be a struggle getting a bunch of tents together me thinks….
  12. Anyone in big ground yet - are there many in, 09.22 is the time now
  13. Gate b - a marshal has just come down and said that ‘security are causing a bottleneck, but you will be moving soon’….. over zealous checking, I wonder?
  14. Gate b appears to be stationary. Moved about 150 mtrs and now stood still for 30 mins. What is going on at the gate anyone know?
  15. You make me laugh and cry at the same time. Beautiful. Thank you.

  17. Yes there does seem to be a trend here and manics are stand up fella’s, so it seems.
  18. Just read this on popbitch. It is so sad. The son of Martin Duffy gives Primal Scream a pasting at the inquest of his dad's death [Read here]
  19. This is from last year i think so wont be completely accurate but might help some folks…. Edit - actually it’s older than i thought and does need updating quite a lot.
  20. I think that the Lottery winners on the Avalon will be very busy. I know they are playing umpteen times but this is the most accessible venue and at a time when there is little competition. Or am i reading their popularity wrong? Not quite wet leg 2022 but getting close?
