  1. That'll be fine. It's not so crowded in there. It's just a campsite with loos/showers in trailered in blocks. There is a bar and bits but it's not extravagant and will change next year anyway
  2. Final weather update - looking pretty good. Slight threat of Sat/Sun showers remains but promising. Temps around where they are today so all very tolerable. Word on ground is basically dry, some muck in chewed up areas but it's drying. Next report from the site itself.
  3. The trek remains.... but I guess there's always the stairs. Weather looks good, possible showers over Sat night - vague threats on Monday but that's still a fair way out and trend has been favourable. Word on ground is it's pretty sticky in some of the intense vehicle movement areas but generally OK and drying, should be fine if there's no more proper rain.
  4. Nobody knows. We're not even 100% certain where it is this year. Not sure if it's in the same place (what was Whister's Green/KidzTown/Meadow) or moving to hilltop or what - might all depend on how many passes they sell? Mystery box. Where is that map? 🤔
  5. They're saying the facilities will be better this year, not sure what the plan is but they've said they're trying as many took issue. Short walk from car and mates in campervans, showers and frozen cocktails made it feel worthwhile for us last year.
  6. All of this. I did that this last year - just straight up ignored it and didn't even try to go past a first wander on Thursday. Had an absolutely lovely time in the random chaos of the rest of the site without the wrecked crowds and it felt leaps and bounds more "Glastonbury" - green, friendly and open and full of all sorts. Agree with most of the criticisms here, plus still bugs me that Block9 ends up seen as "the safe space" when as a gay guy one of Glastonbury's great joys these last 20 years has been that it's all safe space. Still cringing at seeing someone ask if NYCD had a coat check... all feels too much like town.
  7. I'm of two minds over this after hearing how it was down front - seems a wonderful thing and exactly the kind of inclusive support I love the festival for. On the other hand where I was only halfway back around me nobody sung along and it was a real damp squib, was perhaps caught in the throngs of pyramid sitters waiting to be entertained. Should the sound guy have mixed in the front-crowd audio? Probably but in the end it was just kinda sad to watch and the low point of the weekend's shows. My heart goes out to him and how stressful that must have been but reckon he should have pulled out as I bet that was crushing anyway.

    Fireworks

Smoke issues were due to the very light airs into the site - from the stone circle I could see across the back of the ones above the Park and they were clear as normal. There seemed to be fewer fireworks in general this year. As a cost cutting measure it's one I fully understand and support as they're a huge expense for a very short effect but it was a noticeable loss.
  9. Went for option 2 as some flags can be fun and it is rather atmospheric but I'd be up for a full ban tbh, there's a full ban on flares but we still get a few after all so probably works out about right. Sadly having had this conversation in a number of places the attitude of flag w*nkers is utterly awful - proper "you come and try saying something to me mate" type threatening aggression which matches exactly what I've experienced in person when trying to ask folk to think of those behind them as their flag repeatedly hits us and gets in the way. The Eavis's desperately need to revisit this. They need to look at how it's destroying the view for not just the folk on the Accessibility Platforms but throughout the fields - what's the point in the glorious natural Pyramid Field ampitheatre that made it such a phenomenal live music venue when you can't see squat unless you're right at the front? Elton's stage may as well have been completely empty and just videos playing on the screens. Not a scooby whether there was a stage show, never saw the stage. Then they need to look at the attitude of flag w*nkers and ask themselves if this is what they want. Vile attitudes, completely contrary to the festivals Respect pledge and more.
  10. Good chance! Will have to see how it changes as it crosses the channel but something is coming

    'Healthy' food

Loads of healthy food about, variety is king. This comes as second nature though as I'm planning out where to eat from the moment I arrive. Keep an eye out and you'll find plenty
  12. Yes but it's default stuff - if you want anything nice get it to bring with you
  13. Hold yer horses there's nothing over 30 there, we'll be OK.
  14. This is objectively funny at this point. Full crazy mode active in the weather thread
  15. Yes. Waders in fact. Biblical.
