  1. Thankfully I'm so uncool that this thread is the first time I've heard of Avi Buffalo!
  2. I've read this whole thread from start to finish today (don't know how I missed it at the time). Do I win something?
  3. Ah nasty! Sounds like you got the most out of the time you had anyway.
  4. So sorry to hear you had to leave early 😞 Hope you and your loved ones are okay. Glad you got to enjoy some of it at least.
  5. Actually I've just tried now out of interest and it lets you pick a pitch, people tickets and car pass. Maybe they've since had cancellations freeing them up? Or was just glitchy earlier? Hope you can sort it.
  6. Oh that's weird. Does that maybe mean it's booked up? We booked a while ago and just went through each stage of the booking process, pitch first, then people and extras. We've had to email them a couple of times since and they are very helpful and quick so maybe drop them a line? info@campkin.org It seems odd that it would let you book a pitch if no more people tickets available.
  7. It looks so lovely! Thanks for sharing all the pics.
  8. Part of the Pitchfork festival thing, at Fabric (a nightclub! Been a loooong while since I've been there). I saw her and her awesome band at the 6music festival in March 2020 and she blew me away. Highly recommended!
  9. I've actually been to two now, although both were socially distanced. First was Darren Hayman on June 10th, capacity of just 40 and all seated. Bloody lovely to hear live music again and a nice way to ease back in. Second was my partner's pub band at a PTA fundraiser two weeks back. That was socially distanced and in a field although there was definitely a bit of a clump of us dancing towards the end near the front. As it was outdoors it all felt pretty safe anyway. Along with the band the dad DJing was bloody great, playing a lot of old skool dance tunes and it felt like the most cathartic thing ever to be dancing like a loon in a field once more. Very much needed. Going forward I have Camp Kin in two weeks, which has now had some small bands added, and New Order/Hot Chip at Heaton Park IN September. Both outside. My first non-distanced events are some comedy/drag stuff in September and then Anna Meredith, The Little Unsaid and Nick Cave and Jon Hopkins (several times rescheduled!) in the autumn. Would have loved to have gone to a proper festival this summer but I am buzzing for Camp Kin and New Order regardless. I think easing back in has been the best way for me. Very excited to be back at proper gigs in not too long, though.
  10. It looks so lovely! So nice to see Tea and Toast there. My breakfast venue of choice for years 2008-2013.
  11. Yep it's silly money (I paid it this time around as I'm looking at it as a treat after so long without a gig, but I can't justify that every time). Will be interested to see if it sells out.
  12. Yep! I ran over after Cave finished and caught the hit-heavy last 30 minutes. 2013 was a great year.
  13. It was an incredible performance. I've seen Cave many times and that was in the top three for me!
  14. This was my attitude too. Nick Cave is my absolute favourite artist and I've not had a big gig for so long. Also flying solo so thought fuck it. Going to be immense.
  15. Interesting! Does seem like maybe quite a few people baulked at the price then.
  16. Yeah me too to be honest. It's going to be that kind of gig where you just sit and listen and let it wash over you.
  17. It is pricey innit? Part of the reason I just went fuck it and went for the 100 quid. If I'm going to spend 80, may as well go the whole whack. It'll be awesome, though.
  18. Good luck! Somehow I got straight through, was expecting to be in the waiting list.
  19. That was easy! I have been completely extra and paid mega bucks for a ticket in the front row 😄 Was going to go for the midrange and then just suddenly realised that I've spent next to nothing on gig tickets for two years and this is a special gig and it's been a fucker of a year so, yeah... time to treat myself! Very excited!
  20. Ah cool! Just checking I hadn't missed the boat for London 🙂 I actually have ticket-buying nerves for the first time in forever!
  21. Wait, you've bought tickets already?! Thought they went on sale at 10!
  22. Don't have any myself but this topic is always a hot potato. The LGA have waded in: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schoolreport/34581078

    New Order

Couldn't find a topic for these guys so apologies if there is one... Just heard Bernard on 6 music saying they're doing some festivals next summer. I reckon Glastonbury is nailed on - but where? Obviously I'd love headlining Other but people don't seem to think they're big enough... subbing Other a la Pixies/Pumpkins? Headlining Park? Headlining JP? Super excited about seeing them in November but I'd take a Glasto slot too please thank you.
