  1. Check out the new event fabric are running in July
  2. I can’t quite explain my feelings on GNR. It’s very mixed and often changes. On one hand I think it’s a pretty uninspired booking for Glastonbury in 2023. They’ve been doing the same tour since 2016 with no new material and had some shoddy live performances. They are available because they’ve done the stadiums and played download already - so it feels like Glastonbury getting something that everyone else has had. Doesn’t feel like we’ve landed something special. I know the context behind it plays a big factor. They couldn’t get Taylor and they probably wanted another big name in there to justify the ticket price. I just don’t think they really needed another heritage headliner. They easily could have taken a punt on someone newer and had AM and Elton there to balance it out. A newer act, a mid career (Arctics), and late career (Elton) is the balance they’ve done pretty well in 2022 etc. I get the sense the band is probably very keen to play. Can’t help but think with the reputation of Glasto in the rock industry now that Slash/Axl know it’s a big deal and want to do it (or at least their management really want it). The trio itself is a big one - but I don’t think getting three straight up massive acts always means it’s a good trio. It’s about balance. It is commendable that two of the headliners (GNR/Elton) are first timers - which overall is a good look for Glasto that they continue to rope in names who have never done it. I wonder if Glasto are prioritising big/heritage acts who have never done it before experimenting. It does make me wonder if AM is the weak link for me… if the headliners were Harry Styles / GNR / Elton it looks way better - or Dua Lipa / GNR / Elton. Hard to know.
  3. Or the fact that going up against Macca is just an awful job. I’m interested why no one picks at the other stage headliners for having small crowds against Macca… just Megan.
  4. They already have a GSH
  5. Wow. What happened to this place ey?

    BLACKPINK

Olivia isn’t headlining coachella and BST

    BLACKPINK

Don’t think they will do other - think it’s pyramid. After the legend sounds like a fit.

    BLACKPINK

Because their dates make it a real possibility that they could show up and they were originally slated to be a sub at Coachella before getting the bump up. I’m just saying there is a chance. - gaping GSH - discussions previously that they are in the mix - BST not sold out and no indication it’s an exclusive - agreed to sub headline Coachella (one of their biggest markets) before getting a bump up. - would also be the first major K POP act to play glasto and I reckon the press would be all over it I really don’t think it should be ruled out at all.

    BLACKPINK

Surely they will come and do the Graham Norton / tv round or whatever.

    BLACKPINK

They could easily spend a few days in Australia and fly straight to the UK. 3 or so recovery days and then a glasto show. Highly doubt they are flying back to SK after every show. (and I actually think most of them are US based now).

    BLACKPINK

    Sunday after legend I think

    BLACKPINK

    Third down pyramid I reckon
  15. “Logistical challenges” apparently. This was quiet pulled at the beginning of feb, a few weeks ago, i didn’t realise until I checked their tour dates today.

    BLACKPINK

Will be more interested to see if we get an army of pyramid campers on the day.
  17. As posted in the other thread - new wide and gaping #GSH. Blackpink cancelled their 21st June show in New Zealand. They now have a pretty wide gap between the 17th June in Australia and their 2nd July show at BST (UK).
  18. Matt42

    BLACKPINK

Yup. Surprised no one is calling out this pretty glaring #GSH @Gnomicide
  19. Matt42

    BLACKPINK

Think they are highly likely now - their New Zealand show on the 21st June was cancelled due to logistical challenges. They now have a gap between the 17th June (in Aus) to the 2nd July. Their 2nd July show is the one at Hyde Park.

    The 1975

Actually think it won’t be long until Stormzy steps back from music and probably just pops every now and then on TV.
  21. Matt42

    The 1975

Since 2008 I think only Kasabian and Stormzy are the only two headliners that wouldn’t comfortably headline a festival in any country they tour in. I’m not going to overly research it either, but I’m pretty sure Kasabian did headline some overseas festivals at some-point. The 1975 have a habit of headlining everywhere in the UK and playing in support duties everywhere else.

    The 1975

Who does headline festivals in Europe and is known in the US. Also think you missed the “virtually all”.
  23. Matt42

    The 1975

People not that familiar with an act will always doubt their size. The only doubt I can see Glasto having is whether the 1975 fit the type of headliners they like to go for. Virtually all headliners in the last 10 years have been acts that would headline a festival overseas. The 1975 are not a headliner in Europe or the US. Yes Glasto is in the UK, but there is a degree of global stardom that glastonbury goes for when picking headliners.
