Yeah I had the same view about this myself. Never heard anyone say anything or moan about it. I don’t think there’s going to be one person out there that didn’t like Slaves that’s now going to go out and be there new no.1 fan. Very strange move unless they’re going to change the music style and ultimately that’s actually the reason for it. Also seems weird because of what they stand for, not much of a punk move.

Wow, incredibly dull and boring lineup. Said every year but I’m not the R&L clientele anymore and with V gone they’ve really taken the acts they would’ve got. No idea who Steve Lacy or Lil TJay are. Saying that The Killers are an incredible live act so anyone that does attend make sure that you catch them. I really don’t understand why they announce acts like Don Broco and YMAS anymore, just let Download/Trees/Slam Dunk have them as it’s just pointless trying to push that genre now as they aren’t catered for in the rest of the lineup. I’d guess they will be the pit/FR/lock up headliners but they might possibly be too big unless they stick them against Fender/Eilish. If Yungblud and Tom Grennan are going to be announced later it’ll be because they need to sell out tours.

What like who headlines on which day in case of a day ticket? Who would you want to be paired? I’d maybe be tempted by the day Yungblud is subbing if Foals headline MSW the same day.

This lineup does nothing for me which is good because it means I don’t need to attend. I’ve seen all the headliners and the only undercard act I’m fussed about is Yungblud and I’m seeing him twice in February so at least I don’t need to pay £300 for a ticket. I agree that the touring artists aren’t looking great next year apart from Download who have smashed it with their lineup, unfortunately I can’t attend due to work however I do think Sam Fender, Billie Eilish and The Killers are a massive set of headliners and they will sell well. I think they’re a boring choice but they are big acts. Fender played Finsbury Park last year and has sold out 2 nights at St James already. Billie is one of the biggest acts in the world and The Killers sell out stadiums on the regular. Uninspiring, yes. Weak, no. Obviously Foals, ID and Lewis Capaldi only help the strength, especially for a casual music fan.

The thing is Imagine Dragons are a fairly big draw for a casual. They played Stadium MK last year and there was one of the biggest crowds watching Bastille last year. Billie and The Killers are both very strong and Fender is in demand having played Finsbury last year and doing 2 nights at St James this year.

Looks pretty real, I think the headliners are spot on.

Oh that’s rubbish. The guy from R&L forum got Billie Eilish headlining before anyone knew she’d be touring in Europe in August 2023 and also named Green Day, Sam Fender, KSI and Foals as headliners so the fact 3/5 are at Sziget makes me live in hope for a Green Day announcement in Feb. They’ve got to play a few other festivals in August surely so hoping Sziget is one 😂

Looking at Sziget gives credit to the first leak of Billie Eilish, Green Day, KSI, Foals, Sam Fender and an other. Billie, Foals and Sam Fender must be pretty nailed on now. I assume R&L are waiting on Green Day to announce a tour or new album. A lot of festivals seem to be having later announcements so possibly waiting until Jan/Feb for the first announcement like the old days. If those are the headliners then it’ll easily sell. Got to say the mystery 6th headliner looks like it could be Imagine Dragons with them being announced for Sziget.

What’s the likelihood of Green Day? That’ll push me over the edge getting my ticket.

Do tickets sell out prior to the rest of the lineup release and is it worth going if I can’t make the 10th?

Does anyone have a heavier albums of the year list? Currently got The 1975, Kid Kapichi, Fontaines DC, Foals & Arcade Fire in my albums of the year as not loads standing out. Think LS Dunes and Architects could sneak in on the heavier side of things. I’ve enjoyed the new Rammstein, Muse, MGK, Bob Vylan, Cancer Bats, Dune Rats, Frank Turner, The Chats, The Mysterines, Avril Lavigne, Yungblud, The Interrupters, Korn & Machine Head albums. They’re all good but not quite album of the year good for me as they’re not standing out so wanted to know if there’s anything else on the heavier side for inspiration that I may have missed?

Certainly adds more weight to the rumoured 5. Looking likely it’ll be those 5 plus either Paramore or MGK atm. Think Amyl & The Sniffers could play the tent or early main on the Green Day day as they supported at Hellamegatour.
