    Queue watch

What’s the status of gate D? Currently queuing on the a361, was planning to aim for gate D after parking up but wondering if A is a better option.
  2. It would be a gamble. You might get away with it, or you might get ruined feet after one day. Sorry. 😬
  3. If it’s really that muddy, then wear gaiters. Solves the mucky laces problem and prevents splash over the tops of the boots.
  4. Afraid that just gets worse every time you visit 😆
  5. Between those times you can only enter the SE corner from that point - there’s a queue with barriers & access control. The routes you can take into the SEC at other times, like from the railway line & down from the craft fields, become exit only.
  6. Ummmm not really? There might have been the odd brightish spell but defo not hot or sunny. TBH with the UV at this time of year it doesn’t need to be sunny to get burnt. A full day out in the open without a hat or sun protection will do it, even if grey…
  7. Perfect, thank you… 🙂 Not that I’m absurdly superstitious or anything. When you start following the raw model data it really starts to show how behind the curve some forecasts are. I really wish any site showing forecasts had to specify their sources - something based off a 24-48 hour old model shouldn’t be given much credibility.
  8. Arrrggh that’s the definition of tempting fate. Pack that coat! 😄
  9. Layers. Given how all over the place the forecasts are you need flexible options. I take two lightweight fleece jumpers and a lightweight waterproof shell. They roll up small, don’t weigh much and cover most eventualities… If it looks like it will be as cold as some of the forecasts have suggested, I might replace one of the jumpers with a heavier fleece jacket. Bear in mind you can always put a bag with warmer clothes in a lockup so you don’t have to carry them around 🙂
  10. I’d not be at all surprised if See & GFL have lost people over the forced covid break with experience managing the ticket operation. 🙁 Bit like the chaos at airports… when you’ve been scaled right back and lots of the expertise has moved on, getting back to normal is tough. Don’t think Royal Mail can claim that excuse though!
  11. Cool. Best of luck finding a good spot! ⛺
  12. You’re gonna struggle to find a spot really close to gate B I fear. 🙁 Big Ground, Kidney Mead & Row Mead are closest & will prob be at capacity by end of Weds latest. General wisdom seems to be the further west you go the more space there is. You might find a spot in the fields as you head across towards gate A - Hawkwell, Michael’s Mead, Hitchin Hill etc. But you might end up having to go all the way around to Darble or Pylon which is a fair trek… Obviously depends on size & number of tent(s), and if you’re in a group whether you want space to camp together. Do you have to arrive through gate B? If I was turning up on Thurs I’d aim for A or D which are much closer to the quieter camping spots.
  13. A few people were talking about staying in CC on Tues night & getting the shuttle - on that admittedly tenuous hearsay you should be fine…?! Hopefully someone has a more definitive answer for you. 🙂
  14. But that’s exactly what we were all saying about 48 hours ago. 😉 Still time for it to change.
  15. Hah hah, that’s vanished without a trace now - showing mid-20s rain probabilities 🤷‍♂️ Really is changing all the time.
  16. Weird, still showing Friday showers & dry weekend for me. Must be the difference between Pilton & West Pilton.
  17. Best off considering it a sort of performance art. 😉 To answer your actual question, the forecasts seem to be firming up for a dry-ish start to the festival on Weds & Thurs. After that it’s highly uncertain with possibility of heavy rain or completely dry, or anything in between. Given how dry the site is, would need a LOT of rain to turn it seriously muddy. That yr.no forecast of 6mm, 6mm and 21mm would be something to worry about but it’s an extreme outlier. As said upthread, we can be confident of Weds weather by Monday and Friday weather by Weds. Hope that helps?
  18. Echoing @Twiggy553, a lot of our random kiddy electrical stuff now seems to use USB - either a micro-USB socket on the device itself, or a USB-A connector on its cable. I guess it’s cheaper & easier for manufacturers now to use off the shelf USB kit & specify the rest of the design to work with it. Possibly also has something to do with the potential EU regulation on power supplies…?
  19. Do it. 😄 TBH if you do any walking outside of festivals gaiters are well worth having.
  20. ^^^^ This. Absolutely nothing suggests above ankle deep liquid mud / puddles - only justification for wellies IMO. Of course, it could get worse… They’re in a tent anyway?
  21. Most of the Green Fields stages go at least a couple of hours past midnight - oh, and Strummerville.
  22. Email just now - quite confusingly worded tbh.
  23. Nah, air tents are absolutely brilliant. We went camping with mates a couple of years ago - both with big family tents, but theirs was a blow-up, ours is poled. They were all set up & opening beers before we’d even got the poles threaded. 😬
  24. Is it raining? Just down the road in Macclesfield & just had a sudden influx of grey clouds. ☁️
