  1. Driver will just call names out.  What you need to know is which coach you are on if you are at a stop where more than one coach stops at the same time so you are in the right queue....

Yep me too but as I understand it with the new system it’s unlikely to get anywhere as no payments failing

Yeah the odd seems stacked against, vs the strongest prevailing.  I think last years 22 2nd resale had an unannounced coach sale about 20 mins later.... so will probably try for next 30 mins or so.

barry decided to tell people what's what.

Was about to say the same.  I'd better shuffle my lazy real life experience of discrimination away. As Apparently society has moved on 😒

  4. I was talking to my friend about this who is in the police and they are having more briefings about the behaviour of crowds pre/post pandemic.

Apparently there's definitely a return to previous behaviour traits that we thought were long gone...people are actively acting differently which is pushing things and the lack of experienced staff is playing into it as well.

You make it sound like you know me and my skin colour and the fact I've never been called anything racist and project privilege on to me? If only you knew. It's all rather presumptuous of you. It sounds like you go around making a lot of presumptions, especially on who is allowed to say a word, based on their skin colour.

Call me old fashioned, but banning words in art, based on a person's skin colour sounds kinda... racist?

Also, I don't think this video is really about the topic you think it is. She's asking him why NWA include so many n-words in their music, not if it's okay for white people to say it or not.

I could go on, but there's a lot of moving the goalposts in your post. The original topic wasn't about it's use in songs, it was about whether white people are allowed to say it or not, even if it's a lyric in a song and it's said without malice or intent to harm anybody.

I hear it all time. Why bring race into it is often leveled back when any challenge is made.

The clip is perfectly valid as to why the songs/some artists might be using the word... and the intent and why therefore it's in songs and not okay to be used without any consideration on this basis.

And those who think it's okay to put a time-limit on the impact also fail to get it.  The worst thing we can as a society do is pretend that these things don't exist.

If you think that honestly the repetition of the words in the songs is purely art, but disregarding the route of the message in the first that's the issue.

That's what I thought. Why does race always have to get dragged into these things?

White people can like music sung by Kendrick, black people can like the Foals. It shouldn't be weird to see either races singing to any band or artist.

If the word is in a song, then people should be allowed to sing it, it doesn't mean they're racists or off to join the KKK. Why would they be at the gig in the first place if they just wanted to yell the n word and actually hated black people?! It doesn't make any sense.

There's such a privilege in that statement. I don't want to de rail the thread, bit ultimately race isn't being dragged in... its always there.  The bias whilst it might be uncomfortable and unintentionally it's there.

That's why it really isn't appropriate to use the N word irrespective of your likely to join the KKK.  Easy E explains why black artists use it... here:

Unless you are using it for that reason just don't..  and whilst it's in the song... its not just a lyric in the song.

Also, what’s going on with all the flares? Anytime I went to one of the major stages there were multiple flares going off.

There was a guy who lit one near me before Wet Leg - they hadn’t even been walked on stage yet. Clearly didn’t know that it’s basically holding an intense fire in your hand, and tried to drop it on the floor when he complained, “it’s burning me!”. Everyone started booing him and he realised he’d made a massive mistake, but still, people around were getting burnt. It’s no laughing matter.

I have a love/ hate relationship with Flares...

In the midst without your own making they can be a pain.  Esp inside a tent...

But the as your favourite song is on and sun just going down... something about them for that just works...

I can confirm the crown control at Macca is none existent. Genuinely  dangerous at the back around the dirt track.

Where I was it was fine.  It was the classic donut effect... busy round the edges and quieter in the middle...  same thing happened at the stones and U2.

Problem you do have is people not leaving enough time between acts and all going in via same routes.
