  1. This thread does not deal in probability or predictions. I’ll leave that to the scientists. Here is just real time facts. All I will comment on is my well has been dry for quite sometime now. The water table is not high, unlike in some previous years.

  5. Morning children “The greatest illusion," said the Diver, "is that life should be perfect.” Temperature at 10.04 am is 18.7c and humidity is 70%. See picture dumb arse. Rainfall in last 24 hours is 0mm. Or in local speak feck all. Water table height in the well is unmeasurable today. Well reads Jurassic World. Dave has made a dry entry. Pilton Pat indicates a light breeze towards Glastonbury Tor and cloud is 4/8 Cu. Pokey Twins read no.2 on the moist-o-meter. Gargling gravel. Today’s haiku: Humorous dawning A holy, moist cow whitters in spite of the jar
  6. Most kind of you Chaz and welcome to the mad house. just gotta get some coffee down me and then I’ll take today’s readings and make the report.
  7. Thank you all for the welcome. I swear on Dave the diver’s life that the reports that follow are the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth with a handful of utter nonsense and a dash of dirt. All info is from the ground in Pilton as it is, no prediction, no probability data, no bullsh*t. let the fun times commence
  8. The diver, the jar, the stick and the cow “I am so small” said the Diver. “Yes” said the Cow “ but you are a huge dick” The weather reports in June, from the heart of Pilton, will contain: Rainfall in the last 24 hour period courtesy of the RAM jam jar and the latest scientific depth assessment. Water table height provided by the diver and Sticky Stick mark II Daily outside temperature and humidity taken at the la tour aux oignons Wind direction and cloud cover from Pilton Pat the weathervane Ground moisture levels (new addition this year) using the latest technology from the Pokey Twins. A weekly weather interpretation and graphs sent in from our local weather experts A haiku Stick - A Haiku Meandering thoughts where a pointed, dry stick blows betrayed by the cow This thread is dedicated to Big Dog, who is very much missed, the big sh*t.

  10. Yes those lanes are usually closed unless you have a village pass. I've not looked at this year's plans, but I reckon it'll be the same this year. They are mostly one track lanes so not great at any time of the year. Too many 4x4 arseholes who think they own the lanes. The quickest way from Wells is to go to Glastonbury Town and then to Pilton.
  11. Running 30-35 miles a week will lose 1lb. (100cal per mile). Weigh loss starts in the kitchen. Like the saying goes, you can’t outrun a bad diet or in other words, running does not necessarily equate to weight loss. other platitudes are available
  12. Well you are all a feckin cheerful lot in here aren’t you. Talk about doom-mongering. Here’s a weather picture from 2023
  13. They’re doing exactly as they are supposed to do. Nothing unusual here.
  14. It’s a tad moist. It looks like a river running down the hill on Cockmill Lane. And the hill of inconvenience can get a bit slippery. We don’t have nice steps on our hills. Must be the 5 * option.
  15. I'm still running in my shorts. Anyone would think you were a northern softie 😉😁
  16. I did this " swim the channel" in 2019 I think. Its very doable. I went 3 times a week and finished with days to spare. Having done this...I'll stick to running thanks.
  17. That doesn’t affect runners, just need a change of shoes/clothing.
  18. Never change darling Benny 😘
