  1. Someone needs to make a poll asking if JP stage should be renamed... I would do it, but I'm too lazy.

Very badly! I could see them breaking the pay structure to get them at the farm within the next few years.
  3. I think one of the major problems is having the corridor-like path through the entire area. The path should be relocated to one side and have all the stages/tents/bars on the other. The reason I'm guessing they have it like it is currently is to combat the sound bleed, but that's more of an issue with the sound levels and types of stage they have. It just needs a distinct personality. It's overshadowed by SE corner currently, but with a bit of creativity it can be it's own thing.
  4. It really needs to incorporate an area where people can hang out and chill. Currently, you just kind of walk from one end to the other. Maybe that's an issue with the layout?
  5. It's the one area of the festival, as others have pointed out, that seems to have no distinct personality or flair. If somebody asked me to describe it without reference to it's location I'd really struggle. "It's the dance area, but not SE corner, or Pangea." In fairness, it's competing against those two areas that are visually mesmerising. What I would do: 1). Relocate BBC Introducing - would it fit where Beats Hotel is/was? 2). Cut down the number of stages. There's too many, they cut across one another. 3). Identify one main stage - Sonic or Gully Blues. In fact, I'd copy The Park by having a main stage/large tent and then lots of smaller tents. A big problem is that the big dance acts get bumped to Other stage, so Silver Hayes is never going to have the biggest names playing. But at the same time, it's so visually uninspiring compared to the Glade, SE Corner and Pangea.

Does that mean that Macca will be removed imminently from the Rumours page? Or, are you saying that it definitely won't be Macca on the Saturday?
  7. Do we know when ticket day will be, or is everyone assuming it'll be the 6th Oct?

Pretty sure they tried to book Gaga recently. There was that interview where she was asked about it and she said something like, "I don't think I'm allowed to talk about that yet". If anything, her massive success with A Star is Born held her back from appearing because before that she was on a downward trend. I think she'll be there within the next few years, as a headliner.

Would Kinks definitely be headliners rather than playing the Legends slot?
  10. It was clearly running behind schedule, as the opening time was pushed back and I saw builders still finishing parts of it off, but it definitely looked cool. I had some friends play on the stage opposite the pier and realised that it would make far more sense to have the bands set up and play in the centre of the pier, where the robots were. Having the stage opposite the pier really limited the number of people who could watch the set. Whilst the pier looked cool, I only really spent 30 mins mooching around it and wouldn't be in a rush to go back unless they changed it up a bit. Suppose it's a work in progress and hopefully they'll build on what they have for next time. It'd be nice if they could somehow add sand to the area with the deckchairs - although I'm not sure if that's bad for the land?

Now I'm picturing a Live Aid type festival...which surely couldn't work.

I swear they weren't on there yesterday though!
  13. Yeah, I suppose that's what I should do next time - as long as I could fit all of it into my bag, as I usually do public transport.
  14. So, was there actually an issue with taking in plastic bottles? I struggle to see another way of taking in large quantities of spirits (2ltr plus), unless it's expected we all decant them into 6+ metal, reusable metal bottles?
  15. Sunday felt noticeably busier to me, but that's because of the locals I suppose who are trying to cram in as much as possible in the one day. The only time I got stuck anywhere was in the Pyramid field during Kylie. Thursday is also becoming ridiculous in certain places - if the weather is good. There's just not enough going on to spread out the number of people that have arrived. It's tough because the festival isn't really being run differently, it's more that punters are arriving earlier and earlier and are expectant.

    Daft Punk, isn't it

Nobody is mentioning Arcade Fire. They've headlined before, love the festival, will likely have a new album out or nearly out by June 2020, which'll make it 6 years since their last appearance at the farm. Maybe they're who Emily is referring to in that tweet...
  18. Weird! I swear I saw him on the side of West Holts stage watching Jeff Goldblum's set.
  19. This was my third and my other half’s first. Both had a great time - only us two of our original got tickets in the coach resale, and we didn’t end the festival wanting to kill each other, which must be a good thing for our relationship! That being said, I’m physically exhausted and partied way less than either of my other visits. I’m putting it down to the heat, which I never deal well with. The line up wasn’t a classic for my tastes, but gave me an opportunity to seek out other artists. Thought The Killers nailed their slot and really enjoyed Sheryl Crow’s set on the Friday. Elvana were hilarious too. Like a few others have mentioned, there seemed to be a lot of Instagram folk there, who had no idea what stage was which, but were able to have perfect hair all the time. Did anyone else see that hair salon!? They were very keen on making sure they posted regular updates on #festivallife at the expense of actually watching bands. I was near the mixing desks for the Cure and everyone around me was talking through their set, some were even sat down on their phones. Probably just rambling now. It’s definitely attracting a more commercial-type of person now, who don’t necessarily seem engaged with what the festival stands for. It’s a shame. Really excited for what they have planned for the 50th! Edit: saw tons of people peeing against the fences by Pangea. But elsewhere people seemed to be using the loos.
  20. Unfortunately, they can only make one of the games - Panthers at Bucs on 13th Oct. Not much I can do except give it a go. It's not the end of the world if I don't get any, I'm sure they won't hold it against me.
  21. Thanks for the responses. I think I'll risk the 4G, and get a few people to try alongside. There is a resale of sorts much nearer the games, so it's not the end of the world if I can't get any. Just need to make sure I'm up, and with it, by 10am.
  22. As a wedding present I promised to take the new in-laws to an NFL game in London this October. Only issue is, the tickets are going on sale this Thursday at 10am. Currently, my plan is to use 4G and hope for the best, but I was wondering if there's anywhere on site that provides wifi in order to boost my chances of getting through?

    TBAs 2019

My mate is convinced that they're headlining in 2020 and they're doing what Killers did last time - play a TBA/Secret Set this time and then headline the next festival. He just can't decide if they're the JP Saturday headliners or on earlier in the day at The Park. I think he's mad.

They headlined one year too, right? Are you thinking on The Park?

Ah, I didn't know Christine was back! That certainly changes things. Although, it seems they've dropped the following from the latest shows: Never Going Back Big Love (as you say) Tusk Think About Me I would be sad to not hear some of those, but looks like they've added some Peter Green era stuff instead, so perhaps it balances out.
