Share the info with Neil and if he thinks it's solid he'll update the rumours page.
-
Well, there's no real concrete links. In fact, there's more reasons to think it wouldn't happen. We know for a fact that EE likes KL.
-
Haven't all Killers albums gotten to no1 in the UK though? I think there's a handful of indie bands that remain popular from the early 2000s indie explosion.
-
Kendrick - 20% - need to listen to more of his stuff. McCartney - 110% - As others have said, it's a moment I'll keep for a lifetime Swift - 50% - Like some of the tracks on RED and had an ex that played 1989 incessantly so know some of that. Depends who she's up against.
-
Agreed. The only guests he should bring out are ME and EE, so we can all show our appreciation for organising the best festival on the planet.
-
Foals look likely, unless thy're subbing a headliner on the Pyramid? I expect a dance act to go up against Macca. Prodigy maybe? Deadmau5?
-
Same. What are people's recommendations of where to jump in?
-
It's random. We'll probably find out the other headliners between now and April. Full line up is usually shortly before the resale, I think. Might be wrong though.
-
Okay, so who's bigger: RHCP or Pearl Jam?
-
BST is over 2 weekends, right? So they usually have 5/6 'headliners'?
-
We did, but now they're back in.
-
They definitely do have a fanbase, their prolonged success, constant sell out tours attest to that. I doubt they'll play though, the only link I can see is that they want to make amends for 1993.
-
For some reason The Strokes are linked with headlining every single Glasto - they're 10/1 on Skybet right now - and I can't see them ever headlining.
-
The tour dates make it look unlikely though - I think they'll do BST.
-
This makes more sense to me. Any of those clash with Glasto?
-
Yeah, he didn't mention the RCHP by name but he did say something about not bothering with acts that have left him in the lurch. I think it was around the time of the book launch?
-
I think they, as people, have massively changed since they bailed in 1993, and I wouldn't be surprised if like they'd like to make amends. There were rumours - not sure where they came from - that they'd play for free, so perhaps the festival jumped on the opportunity to save some £££? Taylor isn't going to be cheap, Macca isn't cheap. If there's bigger musicians headlining the Other then that'll cost more ££. I still think it's unlikely. I'm sure in the next month or so the Glasto weekend will be taken up with another EU festival or two.
-
It'd pretty much cover the cost of my ticket!
-
Ah, fair enough. I suppose we'll see if they announce any further festival dates across Europe and if they're on the same weekend as another it makes IOW more likely.
-
If it's Macca, RHCP and Taylor that's actually a very strong way of covering popular music from the 60s to today.
-
It's been mentioned. IOW tweeted Anthony Kiedis a few months back and it was presumed they'd be going back there, but then the festival dates they've lined up in Europe now make that impossible. So, Glasto is an option. They've played Reading a few times, but as that'd be late August I'm not sure if they'd still be in Europe at that point. They usually always do one UK festival whilst on tour though. Until they reveal a date that rules them out of Glasto, or Glasto reveal other headliners, they can't be ruled out.
-
I mean, their shot was supposed to be 1993.
-
Doesn't sound like it - just listened to it. No piano either apart from in the pre-chorus as far as I can tell.
-
And they got Elton to play on it; presumably to not get sued.
