  1. Possibility I admit, but that would require person w/o ticket blagging to the ticket office that they're the person who's ticket is lost. They should be rigorous in their checks that the person standing in front of them is the person who purchased the ticket. For such a tightly organised festival, I just feel there's definitely a better way to handle tickets than the current process.
  2. Yeah I get that, the festival does hold the power as the customer. However, this way of dealing with rising costs will be industry wide, and I would argue that reliability of the supplier is far more important than a few % being knocked off the strength. Therefore I would expect their pool of suppliers to be limited. Furthermore these contracts are also probably signed way in advance. The festival offers bringing your own alcohol, to me that's enough in itself. Also 4% Brooklyn Lager pint sounds okay to me! Aren't the majority of lagers between 3.5-5% in pubs anyway? I pay upwards of £6.50 in some places in Manchester City Centre!
  3. It's probably the contract they'll have with Carlsberg themselves or whoever. Breweries are watering down beer as to either cut costs or get to get a tax break on the reasoning that people will drink less alcohol if the beer is weaker lol. So yes capitalism is live and well at Glastonbury, but lets not blame the festival themselves. They need to supply it from somewhere I guess.
  4. Yep this is the way. Plan to put all in lockup and party away! I want to carry on even longer though and watch the sunrise at stone circle and meet some more strangers. I think though, if I did go home at 5:30am i'll be so thankful in the end that the journey had already been tackled and it was out the way.
  5. Really feel like this shouldn't be an issue in 2023. Each ticket should have it's own unique code that's scanned in on entry. If no entry is logged yet, a new one is issued. It's just basic tech and I can't see what positives can possibly come from negating a process like this and just using the physical tickets themselves.
  6. Yep I would also think if you're a see passenger they'd just want to get you home. It's just a risk though really isn't it, and i'm debating whether a few extra hours on the hill after the music is really worth it... lets see how we feel sunday/monday.
  7. I've never been on the coach but this is exactly as I would expect it. However it's just a risk isn't it. The stupid part is - I know what i'll be missing is potentially not really that much, but the possibly of missing a sunny sunrise at the stone circle is making me upset!
  8. So me and my girlfriend have got thursday coach tickets and we'll arrive approximately 6pm to the fest - not ideal but can't really complain and will make it work! However, our coach home is 5:30am on the Monday to Manchester and we've really not really much desire to jump onto that. If we did turn up say late morning/early afternoon, could you potentially jump on any coach? Has anybody gotten any experience of doing this in the past? Aware that many jump in with their friends and I feel like it's kind of impossible for me to gauge without risking missing the coach and hoping for the best!
  9. Our coach leaves at 5:30am and I have no desire to leave at that time. Will be just me and my girlfriend and happy to cover petrol! Thank you!
  10. This was my prediction to my girlfriend a few weeks back, I think it’s very likely.
  11. Can we stop using models that show rain during the festival
  12. If a washout was going to happen, we would probably know by now correct? Think i'm going with trainers and waterproof walking boots just to make sure, but i've resided in the acceptance that the weather is going to be okay... Hopefully not rushing to get wellies on tuesday.
  13. Hi, So this year, this is the first time i've got the coach (and bloody thursday arrival which is making me sad). I'm sure these questions have been asked a million times but here we go again.. Just me and my girlfriend, we're got currently: - A rucksack each. - A pop up tent I would preference taking another two bags, with one full of alcohol and food (although i'm not sure how we're going to carry this) and smaller one with any extra bits. This is one bag over the recommended. Are they normally okay as long as they can fit it on?
  14. Lol does anybody have any experience with Tesco Mobile? I got a decent deal on the iPhone 13 with free AirPods, really thought it was a good purchase thinking if they use 02’s network then services will be okay. I can barely get through one phone calll in Manchester. Any experience at the festival or should I purchase a sim? Only me and my girlfriend going this year (and her first time) so I think it would be preferable definitely if we can contact each other at all times.
  15. Just those guys talking about Glastonbury at nighttime made me super emotional
  16. I remember watching the app one day last year at the festival.. "80% chance of rain in the next hour" hour passes.. "70% chance of rain in the next hour" This went on until 3am every hour until it just stated "cloudy" or something in the end. Sounded like we did actually dodge a bullet last year though and it rained all around us. I would say it's not very accurate.
  17. I’ve vaped since 2019 using standard vape kits and honestly it felt like disposable vapes came out of nowhere after Covid. After such a push on the reduction of single use plastics, I found it crazy how it just caught on so massively.
  18. Like surely the ticket office have the capability to get you a new ticket as long as you can prove who you are? It’s bloody 2023.
  19. Has anybody missed their return coach home? And what happened as a result?
  20. What was the weather like during 20/21 when the festival was off?
  21. Hot Chip were mega when I saw them in February! However it's a big gig to miss if you're an AM fan
  22. I'm surprised you'll feel that way as a big AM fan. Last time I saw them was in 2018 at TRNSMT and whilst I do agree there's minimal audience interaction, their songs carry it through for me. Really excited to see them again myself.
  23. Me and my girlfriend are looking at alternate arrangements to get home from the festival on Monday morning/afternoon. If anybody has any spare space please hit me up! Happy to pay 🙂
  24. It does feel unfair, but I guess we did click Thursday departure...
