Nonsense. About 10 of the most quoted 15 lines from the whole of TLOP come from Yeezy's verse on NMPILA. You would literally have to look up the lyrics to remember anything Kendrick says in his verse.

He’s obviously not as gifted a rapper as he is a producer but I still think he’s a very good rapper. Big early hits like Jesus Walks and All Falls Down were a blend of strong technical performances and catchy beats. MBDTF he’s on fire throughout. Even on No More Parties in LA he wipes the floor with Kendrick (although feature Kendrick isn’t really Kendrick).
  6. Yeah I would believe that there hasn’t been a firm decision either way on Kendrick Lamar touring next summer, given how he was reportedly late to agree to dates for 2020 and then 2021 fests moved on without him. Glastonbury has the liberty of waiting around until March with a sold out festival. If he doesn’t sign up, someone else will be on hand. Quite possibly the same for McCartney too.
  7. Fair point. He still said (about 30 years after that album) that there are bad memories attached to the name. I wouldn’t expect it to be worth justifying otherwise but do as you wish.

Stakes are really high, with the last album being something of a sleeper hit. Sure she'll smash it though.
  9. Yeah quite likely. Alternatively, they could be leaving it free as a backup - I'm sure some artists do that, based on the frequency of 'Glasto shaped holes' - which is about their level now. But either way, I'm pretty sure they would not be booked to headline 10 months out.
  10. Not being funny but the guy legally got rid of the name Reginald or 'Reg' because he didn't like it or want to be called it. Show some respect.
  11. They had a Finsbury Park show arranged for Glastonbury weekend in 2020 so I can imagine that'll be the plan again.
  12. I was surprised about that exact thing on the Tramlines lineup. Well, giving her huge slots based on the album that's only coming into view might be putting the cart before the horse, but in the situation I can't believe more people would be excited to see Mahalia, even if Simbi wasn't setting up to unleash a screamer into the top bins.
  13. Her bow at Tramlines sounds exciting, and a glimpse at things to come from future live shows. Later on the same stage, Little Simz stakes her claim as a future headliner, with a thrillingly vital set that begins with the rallying cry of ‘Introvert’ from her forthcoming fourth album ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ (due in September). Bowled over by a hero’s welcome, she turns to her band. “One second – pinch me,” she says. “Just making sure this is real”. Shortly afterwards comes ‘Offence’, the opening track from her stellar third album ‘Grey Area’. It’s a set that shows the full kaleidoscopic range of her talent – from the raw ‘’might bang, might not’, from her pandemic-released ‘Drop 6’ EP, to a new track she previews tonight. Over a Jackson 5-influenced chorus and summery beats, unreleased new song ‘Little Q’ evocatively tells the story of her cousin who was stabbed in the chest and left in a coma – it gives an urgent political voice to the statistics of young black men hurt or killed in violent attacks, and talks of the PTSD he suffered afterwards. ‘Daddy weren’t around/No choice now but to be the man of the house,” she raps, “Your talking role models nowhere to be seen/You can’t fathom what I think ‘til you’ve been where I’ve been.’ https://www.nme.com/reviews/tramlines-2021-review-the-streets-little-simz-the-magic-gang-3002656

    Billie Eilish

Is she though? Is Billie Eilish a critical darling? I see she got some 4 star scores with this new album but that's merely a 'better than expected' rather than universal acclaim.

  19. Biffy Clyro are propped up by the Radio X listening mainstream rock fans who also listen to Liam Gallagher and Gerry Cinnamon. I'm sure plenty will be happy to see all three.
  20. Oh right yes. In 2015 - its third year - they had discounted tickets and never since.
  21. Seems a bit of a weak one from Sniffers. But... Guided By Angels is the best thing they've done so the album will still be fucking lit uh
  22. Holy fuck. RIP. So glad we got ZZ at Glastonbury (something I still think was due to an eFests campaign) and they put on an absolute party. Special afternoon that. Their documentary is on Netflix UK for anyone feeling like it. Legendary band with a great story.
