  1. I would add to that 2010. Came on Wednesday 2008 and 2009 and both times no issues getting in, camped out a bit but completely empty even on Thursday morning but loved it. In 2010 there were two things: 1. England football being shown at the Pyramid Stage on Wednesday afternoon 2. Scorching weather. We arrived around 10.00 and had a massive wait to get in. thereafter people realised that arriving Wednesday was a few more days to party.
  2. chair up, so i can rest can of beer in the cup holder, open can and first few glugs. Tent up, second beer whilst sitting watching it all unfold, watch @-TLR- have a tantrum, read the programme then off for a bimble to see what's new.
  3. Means that last year would have been successful in the resale! Had a ticket and then it took an age for my bank to approve the transaction (new system) and when it did the ticket had timed out.
  4. Have tried a number 1st time - Thursday afternoon, never again. Thereafter Wednesday Have set off first thing Wednesday Have set off Tuesday after work, arrive about midnight, park, beer, sleep in car then join queue at sunrise Now, pack Tuesday evening. Drop son at school Wednesday morning, home, pack car and drive in, from South East, A303 but go past and double back through Glastonbury so West car park. Queue not so long if at all, in, get to camping area (Dairy or Baileys). Open beer drink and put tent up. Chair out, beer, watch other arrivals, say hello to those around. Beer and bimble as now HOME
  5. Another really great charity is https://menwalktalk.co.uk particularly on the South Coast
  6. Last year I was very ill with mental health issues, told I shouldn't drive for 3 months and to let DVLA know, That was the end of June. Finally this week, after a lot of chasing DVLA have given me the all clear to dive again. A positive thing is I have done a lot walking and cycling and will maintain that with less car trips. Everyone, especially guys, you need to talk about your mental health. You will realise what amazing friends and family you have. There is a lot of help out there too. Don't bottle it all up.
  7. This, I love this at any festival. Then the bimble around.
  8. Would love to see Grant-Lee Phillips there but he is in Europe April and May
  9. Last night saw Heartworms in Brighton. A lot of fuss about them and they were really good live, hope they appear somewhere.
  10. Saw them last night in Brighton and they were pretty special, really hoping they are at Glastonbury this year. Also thought the support Desperate Journalist were really good.
  11. I have this for a few years now, it's great as boil the water in it so no need for a kettle as well. https://www.woodandmeadow.com/products/snow-peak-titanium-french-press?currency=GBP&variant=32291132178516&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&gclid=Cj0KCQiApKagBhC1ARIsAFc7Mc4i0WTQukyuVNffu5vkW77p9DCeuHXTNQFJBxoewkHGIni6Xuk59K8aArnmEALw_wcB
  12. first went in 2005, camped in Cockmill Meadow even though no kids but arrived late Thursday and not much space left, were allowed in Wicket as just two of us. After that started to arrive Wednesday and camping in Baileys, it was much smaller than and was still half empty on Wednesday. Made sure arrived on west side and it became our 'home', yes a walk but once out we stayed out until went to sleep. Then, last time went in 2015 was aiming for Baileys but was not feeling great (really tired, I felt cold even in the afternoon and had a fleece on was shivering, although went for a wonder also slept, fine by Thursday) so stopped in Dairy and it was fine, nice neighbours, some space. Will head there again this year.
  13. I thought the Who was a great set. I was pretty sober as was getting up early. Townsend was very unhappy with the sound but commented on the vibe, he thought the crowd was great and commented it being much better than Hyde Park. As for Frank Ocean, amongst a certain age and demographic he may be very big, but given the demographics of Glastonbury not big enough to headline Glastonbury, a lot of people would not know who he is despite how well respected he is in the rap/hip-hop community.

  16. You should get an email confirmation to say registered. Try this link to see if you are https://glastonbury.seetickets.com/registration/lookup Once registered don't need to register again, just update details if move etc
  17. Did you go? Stunning set, her voice was so powerful, was very emotional
  18. Another plus for the Merrells, have a pair for walking and festivals, feet don't get sore in them bumbling round a festival and in the downpour at EotR this year bone dry
  19. Had one of these Phil & Teds (2nd hand) in 2014, got muddy as big thunderstorm but served us well, never got stuck anywhere. Main thing is the inflatable tyres, less likely to break and can take a spare and puncture repair kit in case. Yours will be fine
  20. There are three reasons I can think as reasonable, 2 are above: 1. Tent breaks when putting it up. A while ago at another festival witnessed a couple arguing as they tried to put their tent up (always fun to sit back with a beer and watch people put their tents up - i have been known to help when needed), they managed to break it and he had to go and buy a new one! 2. Get there and there is an issue with the tent on putting it up, lack of poles, rip in it etc (the pole on y family camping one has started to split so I know it happens) 3. Flying in from abroad and need to keep it light. Not been to Glastonbury for a few years but at some festivals there are places to leave complete tents for charity.
  21. Annual leave booked! 2022 map downloaded and set as wallpaper. Too much time on here!
  22. Got my ticket at 9.17, and I thought I was stressing! First time since 2015. Due to a number of reasons didn't try again until 2019 for 2020, bad times as was renting a room in a house for a few weeks, only had my work chromebook. Not a sniff. Tried in the resale earlier this year, got to the payment page and took ages to get confirmation from my bank so ticket timed out! Can't believe how excited I am and still 8 months to go.
