  1. Splits worked out mostly ok for me, looking like for me:

The Dangerous Summer > Arm's Length > The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus > ??? > Bob Vylan > Mallory Knox > State Champs > ??? > Funeral For A Friend > The Wonder Years > end of You Me At Six

Probably see One Step Closer before Bob Vylan and L.S Dunes before FFAF but will see closer to the time

  2. Who would have thought that accessible metal would be a hit with newer listeners to the genre! Can understand the "Bastillecore" hate etc "it's not metal blah blah blah" facts are they're leading the charge into a new age of heavier music becoming popular again. It can only introduce people to your more standardised metal which is surely a good thing all round

If they are dropping the smaller stages they need to up their game next year for the money.

I'm hoping they're spending a bit more on facilities, planning ahead to reconfigure it a bit etc, including costs going up, definitely need to up their game!

Mad price increase considering. Wonder if costs have increased to book everything that much or they’re trying to make more profit. After being a really good selling year last year I wonder whether they can afford a quiet year but probably not best to push your luck considering the backlash and bad press last year. Feel like a lot of Slam Dunk clientele may head to Download or Reading/Leeds this year due to the strong pop punk presences. Makes me think they might be trying to push SD into liquidation. Especially with the economy many people can potentially only afford one festival in the summer and when you factor in travel and hotels slam dunk will be similar to Download/R&L prices.

Yes the only reason I'd planned for Slam Dunk this year is that I live close, Download is firmly top on my radar this year with potentially the Blink day at R&L (line up depending)!

Any recommendations for acts pre 5pm on the current clashfinder would be welcome please! Maybe a if you’re a fan of this band you’ll like these as bar Bob Vylan and The Blackout I barely know any bands pre 5pm.

Still considering a 2 day ticket still as it works out around 90 a day which whilst still being expensive I’d be able to watch You Me At Six, All American Rejects, I Prevail, Funeral for a Friend, Palaye Royale, LS Dunes, The Blackout & Bob Vylan twice without having to really worry about any clashes.

Check out Arm's Length for something on early! Caskets are decent too, also looking for more recommendations pre-Bob Vylan!

  4. "Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 tickets have now sold out for this day at Reading Festival 2024. A limited number of Tier 4 tickets are now available to purchase."

Clearly using "Tiers" to justify some higher price tickets, so must be near selling out

  5. Friday: Might go see Those Damn Crows, The Struts and Dream State but would definitely be in for Black Stone Cherry > Wheatus > Bad Omens > QOTSA

Saturday: Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes > Babymetal > Enter Shikari > Tom Morello > The Offspring (maybe some While She Sleeps) > Billy Talent > Fall Out Boy

Sunday: Pinkshift > Code Orange > Bowling For Soup > Sum 41/Electric Callboy > Hoobastank > Limp Bizkit > The Used > Avenged Sevenfold

Plenty of time to find more bands and change stuff up too, plenty there for me now

I love Frank but hope he doesn't take up a headline slot here. Would be happy if he headlined the Forest or Axiom with a duo or solo set.

I'd be over the moon if it's Sleep Token and Turnstile, quite happy if it's Shikari and disappointed if it's Neck Deep. Unfortunately I think the latter are most likely. Not like there's ever a shortage of alternatives regardless.

True would happily just have a solo/duo instead

  7. If it's The Gaslight Anthem, Sleep Token and Frank Turner that'll be an instant buy for me. Can't see it being Shikari (which would also be legendary for me) as they're likely being announced for Download after their tour

Spanish Love Songs would be a bonus, only bummer is Boston Manor being on the Wednesday as I can't do that day this year

  8. I thought top right looked a bit like The Libertines, looks like a little "The" just above the long bit

Not sure on that being Twin Atlantic, decent band but the slot seems too big, for reference Swim Deep were subbing the Thursday last year and they were just highlighted red in the main bulk

😆 I go every year, get our tickets for next year as soon as they go on sale, used to review in the festival programme each year, and sort out the Clashfinder every year.

    I’m 52 next month, it’s just a number 🤣🤘🏼

✌️You are who I aspire to be when I reach that age! 😁

My first one I think was 2014 and it's so different now!
