Then no shorts and tops on fest

I always wear shorts, but an extra shirt or pullover might help in the evening. I can only remember significant rain once (during Drive-By Truckers) but if you're in T-Shirt and shorts.

However, I live in middle of the Irish Sea so my tolerence to cold maybe higher.

It's not the dig vinyl shop it's a company called this is dig which apparently its part of warners just a big online distribution company but shit service

Dig, the shop, have a Discogs page. I've never used it though because they charge  extra P&P to the Isle of Man, when Royal Mail prices are the same.

Any good ones in Liverpool? Heading in on Saturday - going to Jacaranda for sure but there are a few others on Google Maps - any/all worth going to?

Best is the legendary Probe, in the side of the Bluecoat School Building. Follow the signs for the Bluecoat from Church Street.

Dig in Bold Street is cool, and there's another in a vintage clothe shop basement that has a good selection.

And on your side of the water there's Skeleton records.

For anyone who hasn't been to EOTR before - it turns VERY cold in the evening.  We always factor in time early evening to head back to our tent for extra layers.

Bit of an exaggeration, I occasionally have to put on a long sleeve shirt.

Hopefully anti-mask guy is just trolling, but a minor inconvenience of listening to an audiobook is surely better than, you know, potentially KILLING vulnerable people on the bus...?

I wasn't trolling. I'm not anti-mask. I will wear a mask on the bus, as I do on local buses. It was a gentle joke about a minor inconvenience this causes me.

Your post is a nasty spiteful misinterpretation.

Can’t wear a mask to protect others in a crowded coach as my glasses steam up. Amazing how others manage, isn’t it?

    I’ve heard it all now…

No. I can't read on a bus, due to my glasses steaming up because I'm wearing a mask.

Several reports of many people at Green Man coughing on the coach back and most not wearing masks.

Please can anyone on the coach put a damn mask on! In other countries this would be a given…

OK. But you'll have to read to me because my glasses steam up.

After this year’s festival, I would love to hear about two things from people:

    1. The act you weren’t expecting much of, who blew you away.
    2. The act you had high expectations of, who didn’t live up to it.

I’m thinking Sleaford Mods might fit no.1 for me, with Squid fulfilling no.2, but we shall see!

How's that work? You're expecting Squid not to live up to your high expectations? So your expectations are actually low, and if they're not very good they will have lived up to your expectation.

Big Jeff didn’t know about Black Midi. One of the lads from Squid told me and I told Jeff, who then retold me a couple of hours later 🤣

So he did know. That's how it works. People tell Jeff what they know and he shares it.

Can't find much info on it, but this looks like it's just a solo set up, assuming the photo is from this year's show and not a previous one. Either way, I can't wait. That Barbican show that he streamed last year and is on youtube is stunning, but last time he played EOTR it was with a full band and made me cry. Either way, very very excited about this, especially straight after Arab Strap.

He's great either way. The band is members of Pigs etc.

I noticed all the messing with NI and Isle of Man and EU certs are all sorted now.  EOTR seem to have u-turned on every situation where someone has called them out on their NHS centric approach to verifying vaccination.  Feels like they are trying to ensure a smooth load in Thursday.  I'm sure there will be a few people who will be refusing to leave the gates when they fail to meet a requirement and no need to add to it.

To be fair, it's not a situation of their making. They're not experts on the constitutional position of the IOM in respect of Health Care. It's probably never been on their radar before. Our government should have got our vaccination data onto the NHS app months ago (I can order repeat prescriptions on the app but not see my vaccinations!)

We have the same issue as you. We are coming from Jersey and double vaccinated but cannot use the NHS app and would have had to run the risk of going, getting a lateral flow test and risk of getting stuck in England if we tested positive.

Good news 🙂 , they replied to our concerns this morning by email to confirm that they will now accept vaccination letter proof from the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Letters must be from your local health service / GP and have to match your ID. Their website has now been updated to reflect this:

Time to just worry about the day splits and weather 😄

Yes they replied to my tweet on the subject yesterday too. Thanks for taking this forward.

In practice a taxi would take you to a train station, then avoid people on the train and get to a hotel or somewhere you can quarantine safely.

Guess it’s just the risk of going if you’re based abroad.

Yeah, well I'm not really abroad, but it is my risk rather than the festivals.

I'm not too worried about catching it at the festival itself - it's the journey there and back that bothers me more. 2 trains & a shuttle bus both ways. Difficult to socially distance on those!

Having said that, I'm prepared to take the risk as I love EOTR so much.

What's worrying me is if I test positive at the site, what happens then? I won't be able to get a coach off site - so how do I leave? Then I won't be able to fly home - what happens then?
