It'll be like Paul Simon. Largish crowd growing restless.

Paul has a lot more up neat stuff in his back catalogue he just wasn’t very good, I imagine most people at Cat will know what to expect

Some of the best rapping I've heard in ages and it's coming from a nu metal band who I've never really liked before. Cool video

Is this a wind-up? Even worse it's from that w*nker Ronnie Radke

I watched Toyah at Rebellion festival last year. I didn't mind some of her very early stuff. I thought she was cringe worthily bad. Plus if she mentioned she was married to Robert Fripp once she must have mentioned it ten times

    Best avoided.

They seem to get an article written by the NME every week on whatever shite cover they’ve done on YouTube atm, insane.

Nope. Lots of pricey seats in Murrayfield, but nothing for standing or otherwise at the right price point.

Same for Cardiff, will try again Tuesday.

Yeah I think Halsey could sub the pyramid before Arctics.

Can’t ignore her being at Prim and in Europe around the festival with the weekend free.

OS: Sam Smith, Fred Again, The Prodigy

Subs - Halsey, Lewis Capaldi, QOTSA

    Pulp as legend

She does only have the Primavera dates booked at the moment I think though doesn't she? Which would leave empty for like 3 weeks till Glasto

Ah anyway … Elton will his Setlist be similar to that dodgers stadium one ? Does he change things up much … more than happy to stick on that …

Think he played the same set every night when he was doing the U.K. last summer. So bar a few surprises it’ll mostly be the same I imagine

  7. Personally I think the only other act that’s around and realistic I’d have liked to see headline is The Weeknd, and he doesn’t seem to be doing any festivals with his setup so.

Actually, BlackPink appearing at Coachella lends a bit of weight to the rumours of them showing up somewhere on the bill at the G.

Yeah, would be a cool booking as well. I’d go watch out of curiosity.

I don't think anyone knew about the Idles secret set last year. At least I didn't hear anyone mention it

Think it was mentioned the day before or something. The band had been teasing them practicing Slow Savage too

Really don't want it to be the Foo Fighters. I used to like them as a teenager but what can they bring to the table less than 10 years on since their first headline? I don't see the point. Headlining when they did felt like the right time. All they've released and done since is typical middle of the road rock.

Not saying they can never return but it's too soon.

Yeah agreed, as boring a booking as you’ll find. They’d probably go down great with most though tbh.

What's the issue? He's a black rapper?, it's not racist. But for the people choosing to interpret wrongly, I will rephrase. He was a black rapper booked for diversity that would not have cost a lot.

There is no need to make it into something it is not.

It’s pretty demeaning of him as an artist to assume he was booked because he’s black.

If they wanted a cheap headliner for diversity they could have sent you out with the boot polish again.

Agreed but not was Stormzy when he headlined. That was purely a festival diversity booking move.

I've no issue with the type of music etc that headlines but the festival wanted a cheap black rapper who said the right things and he was an option. Already only being booked for APE after topping Glastonbury and Reading. That's your 5 minutes of taking the fame chances though.

    Yikes

Yeah either she didn’t or she struggled to do it. Was quite a last minute show though from what I remember.
She’s an odd one as she also had one of the bigger headline crowds at R&L last year.

I reckon she must attract a large casual audience who would see her at a festival and know the hits but not necessarily go to her own shows

Yeah I agree, think that may be the case for a lot of the similar big pop acts.

Having a career in music is not the same as getting a job at via interview is it?

I haven’t denied that connections get feet in doors and people signed to labels. But my point is that after the initial leg up they’re on their own and at the mercy of the general public. All the money and connections in the world aren’t going to help them if they’re not actually any good.

I see what you’re saying and I agree to a point but there’s still plenty of talentless shite getting radio airplay and plugged constantly because of who they are. Look at KSI for example

Oh i keep on forgetting to ask but here's  my opportunity: who was Miserably Dressed ?

They were never added to the listings/stage times after they appeared on the poster. Could have been Ghost as they were rumoured, MCR were supposed to be around during the festival to but changed their dates I think
