Leftfield headliner or halfway down Other (plenty of bands somewhere around there don't make the first poster).

Having said that there's no other band activity around that time and it's right after a big US tour. Plus he's a big fan of live music in general - may just be a case of the tour dates lining up and him fancying going to Glastonbury this year.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't pop up somewhere at Leftfield and/or Strummerville anyway considering he'll be on site

Should we put any stock in Glastonbury following The Smile on Twitter? I mean they don't follow that many accounts, relatively speaking. Could be innocuous of course, or perhaps they thought they were bagged but talks broke down, as has been implied on here. Still holding out hope for the purported TBA on Woodsies.

Nah, they did Live at Worthy Farm during COVID

  3. Is there any news on whether Carhenge will still be a thing this year or whether William’s Green will be back? I hope for the latter, fantastic to see smaller new bands who aren’t quite big enough for Woodises yet and the late night stuff was magnificent.

    Woodsies: Two Door Cinema Club

I feel like if anything Two Door would likely be an early evening/late afternoon OS headliner now, would be really uninspired as a Woodsies headliner I think

How long is the walk to Darble from the SE corner? I camped in Bushy ground last year, loads of space, but with no easy route to it from gate A and more crew camping near there it seems less attractive.

Solid 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic. Usually camp in Darble and SE corner is quite the trek back.

    +1

I know the Thursday became ridiculous but it was such a great place to catch some cool, new bands over the rest of the weekend. Love the Guilty Pleasures type nights they have in the evening as well.

Fantastic place to catch bands who have graduated from BBC Introducing but aren't near John Peel yet. Wouldn't mourn the lost of the Thursday TBAs if it meant keeping the stage vibe as was.

If sparks are friday, thinking woodsies below hot chip? Maybe third from the top? Otherwise park. Dont think they’d get much of a crowd on the other

I feel like most likely is The Park - feels more right for them than Woodsies would imo

Absolute disaster this, really think there's no way back for Brixton. From reports it just seems like the failings were so widespread, the official report comes out next month this article says.

Awful that its taken so long for the body to be released.

I think Brixton will reopen before the end of the year but there will be massive widespread changes in the running of it possibly even new owners and a change in licensing. Wouldn't surprise me if they lose their licence for late events for example.

Not convinced that Jack White really is the massive name your making him out to be. Solo he's not even an arena act here

he did 6k in london after his glasto show this year and 10k in 2018. hardly much

Don't be silly - both Hammersmith nights week after the festival were sold out pretty quickly. If he was announced, he'd be other stage headliner or Pyramid sub (or even a weak Pyramid headliner)

Worried about the Williams green not being there. The fact that EE mentioned secret sets not being akin to what we've come to expect during recent years suggest maybe they don't have the funds to justify. In my experience of going since 2004, it has just been expanding and expanding as a festival, can appreciate if it needs to contact a bit in the current climate. I won't begrudge as it will still be brilliant in 2023 I'm sure

Same - some of my favourite sets have been there such as Wolf Alice in 2014, and Let's Eat Grandma in 2017. Provided a great alternative to the SE corner and Silver Hayes in terms of late night stuff too.

Echoing the guy that was asking about ticket prices, are these gigs normally all seated or will standing be avaliable. Been wanting to see underworld for a good while but worries this might not be the right venue for it to go tops off

When I’ve gone to TCT gigs in the past, standing has been available but goes quickly.

  12. 1. CMAT (either on William’s Green or John Peel - my favourite album of this year!)

    2. Yard Act (I know they played this year but saw them a few weeks ago and they were absolutely brilliant. A John Peel must have.)

    3. Maggie Rogers (amazing album this year, can imagine a mid afternoon Other slot!)

    4. Pulp (enough said)

    5. Let’s Eat Grandma (their album earlier this year was incredible as was their 2019 William’s Green set)

Yeah? Guess I was totally smashed, and also love them. Couldn't comment on the performance!

Thought they were good - although my main memory of the set is Matty jumping off stage to punch someone for throwing a can at him

Pilton Palais announcement at 1700 with the new Thor film. Which would mean the little one would want to go. Haven't watched a film since 24 hour party people in 2002 on the open air screen

I’d be surprised if the new Thor film is shown considering it’s not out until the 8th July - I know Disney occasionally supply family films weekend or so before their release but can’t imagine them doing it for a big Marvel movie
