Mars subbing Muse. That's a decent shout. Also, Deathcab from that lineup would be a welcome addition.
Muse / 30STM / YMAS
Eminem / Major Lazer / Panic!
Kasabian / Royal Blood / Skepta
Perhaps? Only stuck Panic! down as I can't think of another third down that isn't Wolf Alice.
What's wrong with Wolf Alice? I have them, YMAS and Shikari.

That explains why you barriered for them two in 2011 then.
I'm not really taking much from that line up bc I dunno how big they are in the US compared to here but I can't see a reality where 30STM even subs a major festival in 2017. I bet even Kerrang! has just about forgotten them and that thing is a time capsule.
Muse and Elbow 30STM subbed MCR.
I actually caught the last 5 mins of 30STM before Depeche Mode at Werchter and fuck me it was the most cringey thing I've ever seen. Jared Leto thanking "all the believers out there" who'd made this possible etc. before playing some dirge of a tune.
Edit: But yeah I don't think they could sub R&L now.

Year 10's from 2010 maybe.
Yeah that's a good point I was thinking of the ones back when I was in year 10. Which was 2010.

I like it and would be a good line up, think Twin would expect a higher slot though after headlining NME already - maybe 3rd/4th down. PVRIS opening would be good and Neck Deep / Shikari would be great. Interesting to see someone mention Royal Blood under Kasabian instead of Muse
Twin Atlantic subbed NME in 2015, they didn't headline. I've got em down as 4th main but I don't think 5th would be impossible.

The VIP thing is for his UK Tour I think. Nevertheless I wouldn't mind seeing him at R&L. Saw him at Common People last year and it was a pretty decent show, don't think he'd be main stage worthy for R&L though.
Could also be Mutiny who are announcing their "Sunday special guests" tomorrow. Same festival with 50 Cent as a headliner.
Nah just looked and the VIP passes are for the festival, so I don't think it'll be R&L.

Last one was a Wednesday iirc.
Wasn't really responding to the probability of Craig David foretelling the announcement being tomorrow, just whether he's appropriate for it. This is peak festival announcement period though and there'll be plenty announced tomorrow with or without R+L.
Oh yeah I was referring to the guy who initially posted it saying "with the announcement coming presumably tomorrow". I think he could play, but I think it'll more likely be a different festival.
-
Haven't the lineup announcements tended to be on Fridays, though? Or am I mistaken?

The dates to play at Glastonbury are currently free.
It's been years since they performed at the farm.
New material since and also some new tunes this year.
The only doubt I have is whether they only see themselves as a headline act now. I know they've played on the Glastonbury other stage in the past but at every other festival so far this year, they're being announced as headliners. With Radiohead confirmed and Ed/Foo's TBC as the other two, hopefully they'll be happy to top the bill on the other stage as an alternative to Radiohead or Ed. I can't see them up against the Foo's.
Headlined the 2nd stage at T two years ago up against bloody Noel Gallagher on the main stage.

To be fair I think nearly everyone she follows on there has played since the last fallow year so it might actually turn out to, weirdly, be a decent indicator.
Though most of them are women, so I think it's more that than anything else.
Has she followed Slipknot yet?

That's a sweet line-up! Purity Ring are in like my top 5 bands I want to see live, just never managed to catch them, they're sitting up there in the good company of cats like Beyonce and Kendrick
Saw them in 2015 at Brudenell in Leeds and they were really good despite me knowing none of their songs. Mate text me the day before saying his friend had bailed and asking if I fancied it for free so I thought why not. Was a good time.

If Gaga and the Kung Fu Fighters were both down to do elongated sets then perhaps they'd be on different days?
Think they will be. Gaga subbing Sheeran makes way more sense. Royal Blood below Foos I reckz.
14 minutes ago, thewayiam said:It's probably been said KC are supporting them and it's been taken literally. I don't see them as low as 5th down though.
No one suggested that. He said if it was Foo Fighters, Gaga, Diana Ross as a top 3 then Kaiser can go below Diana Ross (that would make them 4th by the way).

Would Gaga not get slightly longer than other subs? And wasn't foos scheduled to do an mega long set in 2015?
Thats the only reason why I thought it would be a squeeze. 2 acts that might ask for longer than normal sets.
I guess, but whoever is playing 4th down will just be on earlier if that is the case.

Would be a bit of a squeeze time wise though wouldn't it, with DR late afternoon.
How do you mean? There are always 3 acts on after the legend.

KC as in Kaiser Chiefs headlining Pyramid or are you talking subs here? either way no chance surely?!!
Foo Fighters, Gaga, Kaiser Chiefs finishing the Pyramid on Friday. Foo Fighters headlining, Gaga subbing, Kaiser Chiefs 3rd down.

Pyramid: Fleet Foxes / Liam Gallagher / King Charles
Other: Public Service Broadcasting

James Blunt is not doing 3rd or 4th on the Pyramid.
Assume he means 3rd or 4th up, rather than down, but still ain't gonna happen.

Surprised by that if true! I know they're on the rise but I was honestly expecting a much bigger name to headline (unless they're simply 'closing' the main stage and there's an actual headliner on before them)
I was just thinking cos someone on here suggested them as headliners not long back and also some people were debating whether Slowdive were the headliners and ended up deciding they'd probably sub, and RTJ are undoubtedly bigger than Slowdive, aren't they?
And yeah if I went I'd watch Aphex as my headliner because I've seen RTJ before and they're not difficult to see in general, would just be annoying that I'd have to miss my other favourite act on the bill.

They're from the UK though so I don't think it'd be beyond the realms of possibility for them to do R&L too on a UK exclusive.
