saw him last year at Latitude and he has a bucketful of great songs and comes across as a nice chap.  Yeah perfect 10 can do one.  Agree he will go down a storm on the pyramid in the early afternoon.

Yip. He was on ahead of Pulp at trnsmt last summer and was excellent scenes. Sun out big crowd.
Wondered how it would work without Jackie A but he’d found a very able replacement 👌

Excellent habit of leaving money behind local pubs to get his round in 👏

Just 2.6m viewers for this on Saturday night, the lowest ever unsurprisingly.

Just got round to watching. Awful stuff. Move it back midweek and lose all the disinterested table types from the front.
Stick to the music and ditch the “comedy” set pieces in the crowd.

As is traditional around here, I drank throughout but it didn’t help 😞

I was referring to Taylor of course as one of the people. It just beggars belief that she schedules 3 gigs in Dublin over the weekened. I simply do not understand why when she had previously agreed to headline the cancelled festival.

The other one I was thinking about was P!nk. Although I do appreciate that her stage show would not translate onto the Pyramid very well.

As for Springsteen, yep he has done it before, Coldplay have done it loads of times, Stevie Wonder has done it before, I don't get this legendary artist argument. We need fresh and new, something we haven't seen before.

I don't have a problem with Dua Lipa, I totally get she is fresh and relevant, and if she brought Margot Robbie onto stage for Dance the Night, that would be even better!

Imagine the scenes if Taylor pushes the Saturday or Sunday Dublin date into the following week and turns up at the farm. After the Who we thought we wouldn’t be fooled again.

We're still in the FA Cup so don't jump the gun just yet.

Saying that, f**king hell that was a bizarre and annoying game. Chelsea were pretty insipid for a team that dominated possession, given Dubravka barely had anything to do, and yet we might as well have kicked the ball in our net at the end. Trippier looks burned out, Gordon got injured, and we're still seemingly no nearer to stopping everyone breaking down.

Oh well. It's only a January with Liverpool, Man City, Aston Villa and an FA Cup tie with Sunderland coming up.

Trippier does pretty much anything else with that cross at the end and you’re through 🙇‍♂️

They have been doing it for years.

Correct. I’m not interested in scrolling back but I remember talking about baby steps years ago when they started increasing tax on the better off. Most accept tax has to go up but I remember at the time Davidson was screaming about Scotland being the highest taxed part of the uk.

It’s incredible that with the state of things the Tories want to cut tax. Taxing folk never popular so fair play to the SNP and the Greens.

What would be the stupid flashmob song if it was Cher? Shoop Shoop Song?

Yip. G Norton the other week now a slot in the Strictly final. The book, and the bbc, says it’s Cher.

I think maybe though he doesn't get mentioned as much as others as there's something of a feeling that the person in the legend slot should be someone who really wouldn't work nearly as well anywhere else on the bill - whereas there's quite a few places Sting could viably play.

Agree with this. See also folks like Sheryl Crow, Alannis Morrisette and maybe Elvis Costello.

I heard a few Scotland fans suggest that Euro 2020 in 2021 ended up feeling like an anticlimax what with 2 games at Hampden and 1 at Wembley against England, and plus the covid-time reduced stadium crowds didn't help either. So yeah, I can guess that going to Munich to play Germany in Germany for game 1 of the whole tournament will feel like a very grand event indeed.

Aye was all a bit weird. I managed to get a ticket for the Czech game at Hampden. 10,000 I think. Munich for the opening game against Germany will be crazy scenes.

I can’t see wales getting through the play offs, but that’s an intriguing draw if they can. After spending all those years trying to get to the World Cup we got the most boring draw possible which made it worse when we flopped. I would much rather go against the best teams.

Agree. Glad we avoided England from pot1 and Italy from pot4. Nice to be involved in the opening game.

Plenty of intriguing line-ups from this. Germany v Scotland as the first game of the tournament, a tricky looking group for a very out-of-sorts Germans, a decent Spain/Croatia/Italy triple-header, a group that could be either easy or full of banana skins for England, and a tricky group for whomever wins play-off path A.

Even if the third place thing in the current 24-team Euros format reduces the jeopardy.

Decent draw for 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We’re going for the first 2 games. Find out on Thursday if we’ll get tickets 🤞

"But I just can't do it" was belted out! Magic in there tonight.

Her and the band on fire and left the lot on that stage. Magic as you say 👏 See they were filming it. They’ll be hoping the roar that greeted the songs will come across on film. I’m hoping we weren’t caught dancing to the Spicers at the end 😂

from memory they have to have a name on the HT and the person getting in has to provide some sort of photo id at the gate (i could be wrong on the photo - may just be Id)

In 2015 we found a hospitality ticket blowing along the path. Pink car park I think. No picture but a name on it.

Handed it to the volunteers in Wicket camping. Hopefully they got in …..

congrats to Scotland for their famous victory tonight that sees them qualify for euro 2024, lets hope they get their world cup final against England.

Thanks Neil. Incredible scenes to qualify with 2 games to spare. Most unlike us. Steve Clarke has done a brilliant job 👏

Hopefully we will avoid England in the Group draw.
A game or 2 against teams that don’t carry huge support would be useful on the ticket front 🤞

  14. Apols if covered already but just watched The Stones and Brian Jones on iplayer. Great stuff. Some great insights, loved the fan letters and some of the crazy crowd scenes.
The stuff from his Dad, especially at the end was very well done.

    A decent watch.

So Manchester has been heading in direction of favouring public transport users and cyclists/pedestrians over the years...20mph limits, new cycle paths and bus lanes etc...and i know it f**ks many drivers off as I see it on social media and also I drive too. So..I guess it is these people that Sunak sees as potential way to get votes.

I also cycle and it's f**king dangerous in some places and I have been knocked off my bike a couple of times just in last few months, and I use public transport when need to but would take ages if I tried to get to work on it, my kid uses every day...and we we need to get more people out of their cars so f**koff rishi.

6 month pilot starts next week with no increased rail fares during “peak” travel times. Not before time and hopefully becomes permanent and takes people off the roads.

Says Imagine Dragons did Singapore and the Texan F1 races before. Twice, but still enough to be on their radar. So, I'd say wouldn't rule them out of doing Vegas. Maybe U2 as well? Their Sphere residency is due to run until 3 days before the race, so they could well be in the neighbourhood, plus the track goes past it.

You’ve just reminded me….stumbled across Imagine Dragons on tv on Sunday from Reading. They’ve mostly passed me by but ended up watching the full set. Great band and the singer has a cracking voice. Excellent front man and the kids were loving it.

Saw the Killers pulling a drummer out the crowd at Trnsmt good few years ago and think they do it all the time.

No idea how it made the bbc lunchtime news today but obviously absolute scenes for the kid.
