I'd seek professional help if I was you, your life must be a total meaningless mess if this is your way to have fun. Do you wan't me to point out a good psychiatrist for you? You desperately need one......

Hoping for The Avalanches, and reckon it's entirely possible. At Glastonbury the week before and announced their first European festival yesterday, so their announcement may have been held back especially. Won't be too disappointed if they're not there as will see them the weekend before, however they're one of my favourite acts and I've yet to see them live yet.

Reckon this last announcement will be much the same as the previous, may get 1 or 2 bigger names for the Friday to help it sell out mind. Really wouldn't mind something a bit left field though, perhaps someone like Sigur Ros or similar? Not sure when they last played or if they're free that weekend, but someone like that who is a bit more of a rarity as opposed to the same bands touring year on year. Sigur Ros -> Radiohead would be an amazing way to spend my birthday.

I think we have enough of brainless poppy acts so I hope The Avalanches stay as far away as possible. Sigur Rós is not my type of music, even if I'm Icelandic, but I see where you're going with that.

In my opinion we still need a proper sub on main stage on both Friday and Sunday....Alt-j / James Blake / Oscar and the Wolf would all be a huge disappointment for me personally if any of them would sub. My guess is though that Alt-J will sub, the only chance is to get a proper size band to sub is on the Friday.....

Hmm. Strange that they'd appear on the official website though, albeit momentarily.

Unless it was just a template, waiting to be edited?

I think this could be the case, it was just a template that accidentally was put on their web page....

According to these splits I guess Soulwax is closing after FF?

In the announcement it said that Foos were closing the Main Stage....

"In 2015 Foo Fighters were forced to cancel their appearance at Rock Werchter, but they’ve made good on their promise to return and will bring Rock Werchter 2017 to a close on Sunday 2 July."

I'm not a Chainsmokers fan but their popularity is undeniable. All of their recent releases have been Top 10 in pretty much every major territory worldwide. I think they'll be closing the night.

Are you saying that Iceland is not a major territory worldwide??? :o

Also, The Chainsmokers play a LOT of hybrid trap tunes in their sets which is arbitrary to what their recent releases sound like.

Example of this in the video below which if u skip through shows, Still not my taste tbh but each to their own :)

This is actually quite cool. FF to 26:26min, this is how I want a dance-act to be, remixing rock songs. 2ManyDJ's did it brilliantly in 2009, as did Chase&Status in 2012.....

Gossard no offence dude but they are massive atm, internationally too, so you not considering them big or not having heard of them isn't typical of everyone else attending.

I agree they are no prodigy or chemy bros, but they must be a damn sight cheaper and will draw a massive main stage crowd regardless.

I agree with you, they seem to be pretty popular. And as I said, I would not have any problem with them if we had another big dance-act on another day. But them being the only main stage dance-act is disappointing in my opinion....

Well, I don't really know why this is still debated. So far only main stage acts or at least Barn headliners were in solo announcements. They clearly are not just a Klub C closing act.

And they are famous, unfortunately. Heck, they even have a feat. with Coldplay.

It probably depends on how you define big/famous I guess. If we had another big dance-act I wouldn't mind having a band like Chainsmokers as the 'other' dance-act. But a new band that I've never heard of, and the few songs I gave a listen were beyond crap, you have to excuse me for being a little disappointed. It's not like they are The  Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers or Daft Punk....damnit, I'd rather have Skrillex, Deadmau5, Major Lazer, Chase&Status or Justice. At least I know they can throw a party

If they are the only dance-act we'll have, putting Soulwax in a tent on Sunday is a bit strange IMO....

Whilst I totally agree with you that were missing a big dance act here ypu gotta remember how big chainsmokers have been internationally in the last 12 months,  they will draw a massive crowd so in don't think they will book anyone else.

Also whoever said 1 act annoucement a day? I think this would be amaxing if it happened!

Still prating for antone internationally big who is half decent but amazed by cigarettes aftrr sex and tout va bien. .. easilt enough bands to keep me entertained ....

So big that I had never heard of them before the were announced....

While Biffy are big for us, a Belgium fest won't see them as a must book at all.

I think Tremousse had a good point:

Now think that you're the organiser of the festival. Wouldn't you take Biffy Clyro knowing that there are spaces for them on the bill + they are on the little brother's bill + They have a big international influence ?!

Ahaha come on !! Hope for Biffy, hope for Kasabian and it will be okay ! Notice that nearly each announcement contains a Main Square name... Which non ruled out international acts of Main Square are not announced at Werchter for the moment ? Biffy Clyro, The Lemon Twigs, Don Broco, Spoon, Kensington, Highly Suspect, Major Lazer. Major Lazer would have a special announcement so put them out of the list. Mathematically, if there is one announcement remaining (with a package of bands), you have 17% of chances to have Biffy Clyro.

Now think that you're the organiser of the festival. Wouldn't you take Biffy Clyro knowing that there are spaces for them on the bill + they are on the little brother's bill + They have a big international influence ?!

Knowing there's a space for a sub for Foos, it would be very illogical to not have Biffy or Kasabian or A Tribe Called Quest on the bill... Sometimes hope is realistic ;) So believe ! Nobody knows ! (The following song has nothing to do with Rock Werchter, but I love it, so it's just decoration to make you believe a little bit more!) (don't see any religion in it)

I missed My Morning Jacked at RW a few years ago.....great band though ;)  ....and YES, BRING ON BIFFY!!!

Biffy plays open air saint gallen on Sunday. They could be signed for Werchter too, but the day was tbd here and on main square depending on other negociations. I still have hope that we can see them.

Okey, so they haven't updated their webpage nor facebook page. Hopefully these two days, Friday and Saturday, they'll play RW and MSF :)

I'm still confident that we are still due a Barn headliner on Saturday. There is not a single act at the moment that can pull it off in the slightest.

On Sunday I've come to accept the idea that Alt-J is subbing and Soulwax is closing the Barn. But even that situation still requires a strong third down Main Stage act (because realistically none of The Lumineers/Dropkick Murphys/G-Eazy could pull that off).

ATCQ is still around to fill either of those aforementioned spots.

Biffy Clyro only has that Saturday gig at Main Square Festival the RW weekend, they sure could play third down on Saturday.....

Well, today we had announcements by Lokerse Feesten, Cactus Festival and Graspop (only one small name though). Maybe it's also Belgian Festival Announcements Day... ;-)

Oki, maybe this only apples to RW and GMM......

    Why?

And didn't Graspop post this lineup this morning?

They posted it 10 min ago, at least on twitter. In my experience Belgian festivals never announce anything on the day another Belgian festival is announcing something.....

    We have more than enough:

Pop(py) acts: Dua Lipa, Birdy, Charli XCX, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Chainsmokers, G-Eazy, Passenger, Kodaline, Oscar & The Wolf, Bazart, Blink 182, Jain, Crystal Fighters...

Rock-out-with-your-cock-out acts: System Of A Down, Dropkick Murphys, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Frank Carter, Jimmy Eat World, Royal Blood, Prophets Of Rage, Nothing But Thieves, Kings Of Leon...

I think we need some more middle sized alternative acts. Really.

    And a more classic act.

Frank Carter, Nothing but Thieves and KoL a "rock out with your cock out" bands? One could also argue that Linkin Park and Prophets of Rage were more of a hiphop kind of a rock, not alternative rock.

...btw, I love that Lemmy quote ;)
