Please tell me Low aren't directly clashing with Dry Cleaning 😞
There will be a lot of overlap, I stupidly didn't go see them both in Manchester so got a pretty big decision to make
Low on the mainstage in daylight is weird scheduling imo

Where's @lessthanwill1gone these days? I thought he'd be all over this update with a new clashfinder.
Hope he's ok.
I'm 99% sure that the William Malin tweeting the fest is our man lessthanwill-so I guess he's ok just efested out?

Yeah I get you have to pay a deposit, but I mean if you decide not to go, can you ask for it back?
Look in the terms but my guess would be no. I've volunteered a few times and it's a good way of doing the festival.

Interesting! I think we know Kraftwerk are on Friday or Sunday given they’re at APE on the Saturday. So Bicep won’t be doing a “warm up” slot before Kraftwerk on the main stage in that case.
My guess is still a closing set on the mainstage on Saturday night by Bicep after Beach House
-
I’m personally hoping for Beach House/Low clash….. Or Low/Kraftwerk. Basically not Low/Kiwanuka

Thabks for this. Are there no official resales?
Also how big is GM? It's substantially bigger than EOTR's 13k capacity right?
They've said no official resales but I guess it's all up in the air because of Covid. You might find a lot of people who rolled their tickets over decide against it but there's no guarantees.
It's 25,000 and feels quite a bit busier that EOTR tbh, not the actual site but some of the traffic on the main thoroughfares etc
-
I guess they were booked well before the split, don't think their new set up warrants such a high spot
-
Can't believe nobody predicted that! Although really not bothered about Kraftwerk overall very happy with the lineup
-
Today's the day!
My very last minute prediction
Little Simz,
Low
Alex G
Murder Capital
Beach House
Arlo Parks
Parquet Courts
Art school girlfriend
Penelope isles
Newdad
-
All I want is Low and Little Simz don't care about the rest
-
He's in Europe in June then his next date is in the US on the 27th/28th of August so I'd say it's quite unlikely he plays here
-
They've put a ticket warning out on social media for anybody on the fence
-
I got an early bird then got kicked out when I de-selected the charity donation ffs
-
Yeah think sell out timing is impossible to predict

How long do you think until we know if we got away with it? I’m testing (negative) daily. Do you think if I’m still negative on Friday that it will be ok? Did quite a lot of sets in the big top!
The incubation period of the delta variant is still around five days so if you're not symptomatic by Saturday you're probably ok.
Interestingly Green Man only reported 71 cases linked to the festival, which is much lower than community transmission.

Would be very surprised if Michael Kiwanuka didn't headline along with SFA as it's both theirs and GMs 20th anniversary.
Mac Demarco was a weak/uninspired booking imo so hope he isn't back. Would love a female headliner as there hasn't been once since 2017. Would personally love Phoebe Bridgers

I went to SGP one year. There was a miserly allowance on the amount of alcohol that you could bring in to the festival. No wonder it was the most serious hard core drugs festival that I have ever been to. Mind you, I did manage to smuggle in 7 litres of red wine - and they checked my rucksack thoroughly!
I worked it a couple of times and the miserly allowance was introduced to try and get people to spend money at the bar which they weren't doing due to all the drugs being consumed.
The festival also had a big crime problem but the main issue was that it lived and died with the weather, if it was sunny it was the best festival in the world, if it rained the ground disintegrated in five minutes and I just sat in my tent.

Temperature checks have been shown to be ineffective in picking up the disease. Unless they can have rapid onsite testing cheaply on site/a vaccine I think it will be very difficult for festivals to go ahead
-
,If king gizzard can headline then Phoebe can headline

Sure, but asking someone to hold off getting rid of their ticket until January so it helps the festival isn’t really reasonable.
It's reasonable if you can afford it. But for the majority of people fronting a festival that you can't go to 200 quid is a big ask

More than 85% of people kept their ticket for Roskilde. Should be similar for Green Man.
On the other hand, there's no way their budget can be the same for next year after losses incurred. But maybe bands will take lower fees?
I guess there's no certainty but I imagine pretty much every band in the land will be looking to tour next year.
-
Green man Instagram advertised a charity auction for two tickets.
I doubt they would do this if they weren't at least planning on the festival going ahead.
I'm not clutching at straws, you are

God I thought you'd posted to say it was cancelled. Don't need that kind of stress in my life

Hoping that this is one of the safer festivals? As it's toward the end of the season...
Fingers crossed. Imagine a fair few foreign bands will pull out but if that means no Mac demarco I'm happy with that
