  1. Big thief are an interesting live band for me - personally don't think there's a band who's matched them for output or quality in the past 10 years but have never really done it for me live even back around masterpiece
  2. I think Sampha/Big thief/Jon Hopkins are about the same size as Devo/First Aid Kit/Self esteem. Very happy with the lineup overall - undercard is Sleaford Mods don't do it for me but I won't go and see them! If Jon Hopkins brings king creosote out I definitely will cry
  3. There's a lot of urinals - both male and female - at Green Man, but definitely no complaining anywhere near on this scale
  4. I mean I've been to some bad toilets in my time but doing a dump onto a newspaper in my own tent would definitely be the worst
  5. Haim were 10/10 for me. Not my usual gig but cheap tickets and them being my wife's favourite band it was all in all a great evening. Never been to ape so couldn't judge how busy it was in comparison to other days but it was very easy to get around. Very happy crowd, good sound and the band put on a great show. The undercard was pretty shite which I think accounted for a lot of the poor ticket sales
  6. The enforcement was exactly the same last year as previous (i.e. none)
  7. Hope everyone has a great time - first time not going since 2016 and probably won't be able to go for quite a few years Feels very weird not getting my stuff together this weekend!
  8. I'm going to guess there isn't a final headliner and they're going to bump someone already on the lineup
  9. Not the best not the worst - they're really vibing the dance pioneers which I find a little dull to be honest but personal preference. It's my first year for a while not going and this lineup doesn't make me devastated to be missing out but there's definitely enough good stuff for a very enjoyable weekend
  10. Find it quite funny people are debating whether boygenius would headline or not. Fontaines dc and yo la tengo have headlined recently ffs. If three men formed a supergroup and one of them had sold out Brixton for four nights I don’t think we’d be having this conversation *ducks for cover*
  11. I would say two headline slots on the same album cycle is pretty unlikely
  12. Now you've said that you just know it's going to be Mac Demarco and Jamie xx
  13. With demand so high they've got to consider moving ticket day to Saturday/Sunday I do not have a job where I can sit in an online queue for an hour
  14. My engagement with chai whallahs has decreased steadily as I've got older, haven't been back since I stumbled across the Beatles dub cover band which is the worst thing I've ever seen. I think there would be uproar if they got rid of it though. My preference would be a stage like the tipi at eotr with late night bands.
  15. Yep much more hope than expectation
  16. I'm hoping no legacy acts to headline next year like Kraftwerk. Ignoring the fact they were incredibly dull I think a festival like Green Man which is now a guaranteed sell out has a responsibility to promote up and coming acts like Little Simz over bands who haven't released any music in the last 10 years. Little Simz/Jamie xx/Angel Olsen
  17. I worked it a couple of years on the bounce and there was always reports of thefts on Thursday and a couple of people got caught. General consensus from police/security is a couple of people come down on Thursday, hit as many tents they can then leave. It's definitely semi organised/planned as it only every happens on Thursday night
  18. I'd imagine there would be plans in place given the background diagnosis
  19. Absolutely awful news all round
  20. Been five times and they've never asked for id
  21. The toilets were definitely a bit shit last year but there was a problem with the supplier, almost certainly due to covid. hopefully it's been fixed this year. There is, crew camping is small but decent with loads of showers etc. Crew parking is in the main car parking field but you're right by the front entrance so you don't have to navigate some of the horrific queues that can build up on Monday
  22. They spend a significant amount of money on the art installations/fire works etc. It's a really cool festival but agree that the booze cap is pretty stingy
  23. You don't have to go and see her?
