  1. I think those would be the two worst stages to see Phoebe on, I had my heart set on The Park, if not headlining then a sunset set up there would be fabulous. I also think a high billing on the John Peel would not be out of the question. Given that Taylor is not appearing Phoebe was the one artist I was really hoping would be on the bill to lessen the blow.
  2. If you are arriving on Thursday then the campsites nearest the coach park will still have plenty of room. I have camped in Pylon twice in 2015/2019 and it has been fine. Not far from the John Peel/Silver Hayes and not a million miles from Pyramid/Other either. I also think Lime Kiln which is off to the left and just above Wicket traditionally has space also if you preferred slightly elevated position. Shame you are having to downsize for this festival, those bell tents are ace. I got my Sticklinch accommodation in the last resale so hopefully you can be successful too. If you do decide to camp inside the fence the stewards at the entrance will have an uptodate map showing which fields still have room and if it is a modestly sized tent for you both there will still be plenty of options, just not in what are considered the popular areas.
  3. The confirmation is in!
  4. Paid! just waiting for the confirmation email!
  5. Never been so happy to handover a load of money to someone else. nearly time!
  6. 6/6 for me, we are all getting excited about shelling out the money!
  7. Hell flipping yes! Would love that. Got them at Bloodstock later this summer.
  8. In week 3 of my return to swimming. Aiming for 40lengths (1km) a day during the week, after starting off at lengths for the first two weeks. After a year of pretty much no exercise at all I am feeling the benefits already. Brighton is a hilly city and the walk home already feels a bit easier. Hoping for the real benefits it kick in after around 3 months. It feels good to be back doing something.
  9. I'd take that Sunday in the Park in a flash!
  10. What the coaches are trying to avoid is overloading the cargo hold so everyone can get their stuff on board. I always packed my modest stash in my backpack which went in to the cargo hold. A trolley loaded up to the hilt with booze is unlikely to get on but a few packs like you suggest should be fine. Anything you can carry on to your seat should be ok. As with all things of this nature, the general rule of thumb is not to take the piss and inconvenience your fellow travellers.
  11. and that is why getting het up about the Pyramid headliners is futile, you will find yourself having a good time elsewhere.
  12. If you are in the queue at 5am, you should have a shot at those spots. Coach gets into to Gate A so Oxlyers will be the first of your target spots. I'd send a couple of people from your group ahead with the tent to grab a spot, if they are just crying that then you should get there in around 15 minutes. If they can spot space ahead in Pennards (if you'd prefer that) then another 15mins or so on top of that as you'll be heading up hill. You should be pitching before 10ish if the queue moves ok so I think you'd definitely get a spot on at least one of those three. Not sure about the etiquette in the packed fields as I tend to avoid them but I am sure those who do will be along to advise you about the add on but people do put up gazebos etc for seating etc. Enjoy your first Glastonbury, I'm envious, the first visit is always a mind blowing experience.
  13. Sheeran at the Concorde 25/26 march
  14. I expect there will and I fully understand that. At least those who are wary can find plenty to do in the open air at Glastonbury.
  15. I think we are past that now. I've been going to club gigs since we were allowed too. Gigs have been 'normal' for quite a while now.
  16. Such a weird day. I was told around 5.30am, and then outside the tent you could just hear people expressing dismay as they found out. I am so glad I was at Glastonbury that year (mud and all) as the festival allowed us to escape the national post mortem. I needed those precious days to process the result and be reminded of the joy that is the collective Glastonbury spirit to restore my faith in humanity.
  17. A euphoric end to what had been an emotionally and physically demanding festival. We caught the second half of that set having waded through the river that was the market area between West Holts and the Other. One of my favourite Glastonbury sets ever. Musically I thought 2016 was pretty damn good, it was just a slog to get anywhere with the heavy ground, the mud was horrible.
  18. A lot. Billie is not only very popular but also a big enough name to pull in the more casually curious Glastonbury-goer. I do think Billie's appeal is underestimated on this forum.
  19. I'm beginning to wonder if next years line up is more solid than this years!
  20. I do appreciate this thread has been derailed somewhat, but flipping heckI am checking some of that footage out. Nostalgia rocks!
  21. Yes that's the show! Thankfully my pimply mug did not make it on to tv! 🙂
  22. I saw Rogue Male play on a HM TV show back in the day! It's not the sort of thing you forget. Thankfully Phil Lynott and Gary Moore were there playing Out In the Fields to balance it out.
  23. Flo has a load of songs that people like and is a good performer. It wouldn't be a cutting edge headline but it would an enjoyable evening at the Pyramid much like The Killers gave a load of people a good night out on their last headline.
