  1. Think a lot of it was people seeing the new, nearly 3x as long, route in place of the path through Pylon and deciding they couldn't be arsed after being crammed in on coaches, trains etc.

    2024 Headliners

When I saw the posts on the previous page about E* S*****n I was trying to remember what I saw that Sunday night... Biffy, a bit of London Grammar, spent some time at Arcadia, then caught the end of Hackney Colliery Band, some of Kangaroo Moon's set in Avalon Cafe, and finished up in the Lizzard cafe in Green Futures. Was a good one. As for The Killers, wouldn't be surprised if they show up in a similar place to Foos this year. That or maybe opening one of the stages.
  3. Sounds like you had some amazing times, memories to treasure. I thought the same when I saw that he was going home the other day, glad he got to be where he wanted to be. Tony Bourdain did a perfectly suitable obit on Kissinger 20+ years ago.
  4. The same, but more with audio recordings. Collecting those tapes from Camden Market etc was a lot of fun. Would always pick up two or three on the rare trips to London. Some of the American "jam bands" allow audio recording/filming of their shows but from a designated tapers section within the venue. Perhaps something like this could be the solution for our phone filmers, certainly in arena sized venues. There's a good few bands out there who sell recordings of their shows, via the likes of nugs.net etc. Arena gigs where there are screens used this could surely be expanded to sell people a DVD/video download of the recorded audio with the images from the screens. Bands make less money from their album sales... perhaps this is another revenue stream they could look into? If advertised, I'm sure that a sensibly priced souvenir would appeal to many. Couple this with Yondr pouches and you really could get the best of both.
  5. I had no idea about this! So glad you mentioned it, off to check out dates!
  6. Better to appear a bit odd (or claim you are also shopping for a friend/relative) than use those machines. No to self service checkouts!
  7. The loss of Pylon to customer camping (think it was all hospitality?) wasn't such a big issue as the extra distance/inconvenience it created for people wanting to camp in Bushy Ground or the fields beyond it. The route provided must have been nearly 3x as long as it was previously. Luckily on the Monday it was possible to cut through Pylon to gate A.
  8. Oh 100% they should! It's not always clear when walking around what's been allocated to what, just that it's not available any more!
  9. Is Wicket all family camping now? That always used to be a great spot. That said, none of us can guarantee anything til we see the map, they seem to give over more real estate to hospitality/crew etc. every year.
  10. Very unlikely, and it's a lot of money to risk for the chance of being told No.
  11. Yeah, there was over a 2 year lead time for the first date when the onsale happened. Peter Kay's most recent tour is the only one I can think of with that much of a lead time between sale and event. Maybe they think it'll take people 2 years to persuade their significant others to buy tickets?
  12. Saw the booking page, entered the reg no's, next page was Event Not Found so must have been right on the point of sell-out. Preference is train travel so go again on Sunday.
  13. The font colour, type, and background colour seemingly hid St Laurence Chruch well from the proof-reader!
  14. Similar in so far as it's an outdoor amphitheatre, this one is built up rather than built onto the side of a hill. Wuhlheide was built after WW2, Waldbuhne was built by the Nazis as a thingspeile.
  15. Standing on the floor and bench seating around the sides. Usually all general admission. Lovely setting in the middle of forest, plenty of places to chill near the venue, a fountain, it's an awesome place.
  16. Tool at Wuhlheide in Berlin is tempting.
  17. Yeah, I enjoyed that set too. Also missed the autumn tour, so really pleased to see a good run of UK shows coming up. The supports for that London show are excellent. Would love to see Kevin Morby on the farm.
  18. Sounds not unlike the Green Day show I saw at Emirates Stadium 10 years ago
  19. Lets hope that they're busy the last week in June. They've gotta be nailed on for Werchter now.
  20. Would love to see him at the farm, the album is killer and reckon he'd go down a storm.
  21. Somerset House would be smaller than all of the currently announced venues. BST on one of the lower capacity nights, or well priced and with a good undercard, could be a good call.
  22. Saw her at BST in 2017 supporting Tom Petty, she was excellent. She's not a headliner for that festival on her own, unless tickets were cheap and it was one of the lower capacity days.
  23. Stayed up pretty much all night on the redial button, and periodically trying at work the following day. Also found a backdoor through the company intranet to go online, but had no joy (just like nearly everyone else). Eventually randomly tried on Good Friday (9 April) and was able to get them.
  24. I think it may have been a front end for them at that point, I know it did end up a front end for TM at one point. Way Ahead is the parent company of See/G & T. Some payments they take still show as this.
