  1. After all their years of stickering the long-drops, perhaps the festival should reward the hard work of Seize The Day and impose one of their stickers onto the poster!

Definitely! It wouldn't be bad for the festival, from a variety perspective, to have maybe one mega booking top the Pyramid each year and the other two be at around arena level. More variety and interest for everyone, more money to spread around the festival. Also, if a band absolutely smashes it one year on WH or Other, easier to promote them up without them having to be at the same level as your Oldplay's, U2s etc.
  3. If the pit isn't for 10c members only they get a 15 minute early entrance normally.
  4. Pearl Jam prices (via Ten Club) are insane. £160.00 for Manchester (seated or standing) £157.50 for London (seated or standing) €177.00 for Dublin (golden circle) €175.00 for Berlin. I didn't look at Barcelona but imagine the same. Hard pass at that price. Turned off the Ten Club renewal too.
  5. If only! The rumours for the London date(s), since late last year, had all been pointing toward them doing two nights in the o2. Perhaps they'll add a second night at Spurs, but much as I'd love it, I don't see them turning up at the festival.
  6. 100%. Don't use the bars at o2 venues at all if I can help it. At the o2 a pint of wine is about the best value for money. And that's still a rip off. Most venues have a pub or two nearby that are good, and an after option if not travelling immediately.
  7. Just make sure no metal on the flask, since they were metal detecting there last time.
  8. Mine's a Foo one too... Best Of You.
  9. Download will surely be keen to get a new headliner. Is it Maiden or Metallica's turn next year? 🤣
  10. I'd forgotten about that one. Looking at the seating plan, they didn't bother setting out block's D1 and D2 on the floor which would've been behind the mixing desk. Definitely some gaps in the seating too, not surprised though at the prices they were charging. It must have sold enough for the promoter to not make a loss. Only way that was selling out was if it were a one-off UK show. They did about 4 or 5 IIRC, including Lytham where fans could stand.
  11. I believe they could have moved it into the Pavilions and it would've been just short of a sell-out. They should've done that, granted they'd have to have done away with some of the pyro and the zip wire, but it'd have been cool to see them somewhere that small.
  12. We'd never get to see it, "unforseen circumstances" or similar would ensure it didn't go ahead.
  13. Think I might play it in the garden with a couple of cans... Still love the album, but don't think I'm close to giving him money for anything new or tickets.
  14. You and me both! Killer record. Tempted to go over to Belfast for them.
  15. Convicted of assaulting an ex-partner, on leaving court he threw a photographers camera across the street. Historic firearms and dangerous weapons charges too.

Wayne Kramer of the legendary MC5.
  17. The latter. Central Tickets and ShowFilmFirst are two that often have stuff.
  18. Quite a lot of this years Crystal Palace gigs ended up on seat filling sites. I've not bought for The National for that very reason. Good chance of that or cheaper on Twickets near the time I'd reckon.
  19. Sinking slowly into the mud over the course of the evening was less dreamy, we didn't catch Tony Bennett's set due to the time I took to squelch across from wherever we were, but from Sonic Youth onwards is probably the best run I've seen on the Pyramid. Not even a thought of going anywhere else.
  20. Micah, from POTR, will be on guitar if Nils not available.

Some of us found our way through the crowd and met mates during NG without too much difficulty. Did take a longer route to get to the nearest entrance to the field by them though, rather than just take the most direct route.

2022 was probably the best balanced year for a long time. Dua and O-Rod would be too, if that happens this year. Stormzy gotta be worth a shout on his next album cycle? Or will he be collecting millions from mega stadiums by then?

    2024 Headliners

The festival's going to have to scale back on the megastar headliners soon, if only because, without repeating R & L style, it's fast running out of acts that are the size of Reg, Stones, U2, Springsteen, Jay-Z, Beyonce etc. Going back to picking acts when they're 2 or 3 albums in and still on the up, the way they had with the likes of Radiohead, Muse, Coldplay, Chems, Blur, Pulp etc. during the late 90's/early 00's. Oldplay have made a fortune out of being absolutely that!
