  1. You'll find some good late night bands just across the railway track, the likes of Toad Hall, Small World, and the Lizzard Stage should see you right.
  2. Some bloody terrible venues there, if it's gonna be arenas or a sh*t concrete echo box (Plymouth) then Dublin in December it is. If an arena gig is gonna go off, it's gonna be there.
  3. Doesn't the Cockmill Inn carry a couple of proper ciders too? I seem to remember it used to at any rate.
  4. Beacon does seem an excellent upgrade on the old venue. Was there for The Fast Show the other week. The one thing I'd fault the Academy with is over-selling, I'm sure it doesn't because that'd be a legal nightmare if they got caught out, but taking 200 or so off the capacity would make it more comfortable. Remember when they used to have that horrible grille thing that ran behind the sound desk between the two sets of steps down, that was even worse.
  5. What's so bad about it? Genuinely, can only think of maybe a couple of shows there that have been less than excellent. Granted, I don't use the bars etc. because it's an o2...
  6. Raging. That crumble was perfect to wash down a poutine. Went on the way to QOTSA and went back again for second crumble helpings after them on the Sunday last year.
  7. Or their management, yes. Reality is most bands/artists leave all that stuff to their management. Bruce and Pearl Jam are very disappointing in their use of it, indeed, I think Pearl Jam were the first to take it to mainland Europe.
  8. Damn. Those bags were always a good gift for people wanting something brought back from the festival.
  9. Yeah, it changed somewhen around 2006. I couldn't remember the exact time, but the Wayback Machine always keeps the receipts 🙂 https://web.archive.org/web/20060711041902/http://www.aloud.com/
  10. And for a time after that, was a front end into Ticketmaster for a while too.
  11. Lets hope it never is, but it may be for everything else that See sells 😞
  12. The one thing you can guarantee from this is that Eventim will update See's systems to support dynamic ticket pricing.
  13. If the band is playing a venue below its normal level, they probably will have cut their fee some to make the gig viable for them and for the promoter to be able to make it happen.
  14. Ticketswap is the main one. Have used it without issues on a few occasions.

    Nick Cave

Ordered 3 for our group this morning, worked out to £83.45 each. I was expecting them to be around the £100.00 mark. I see Ticketbastard have got their dynamic/platinum f**kery in place, and I don't doubt AXS will do too. Anyone buying in the general sale, See Tickets are selling for some of the venues. Go there to avoid that if you can!
  16. Still can't get my head around Hosepipe being at that level...
  17. 4 off the top of my head Opus Kink Cardinals Lemoncello Crooked Little Sons

    Weather v Line up

With the hat designs evolving, it can't be too long before you're able to incorporate rotor blades and fly around the site?

    Weather v Line up

If you've got good kit, the weather is much less of an issue. That said, being able to get from one side of the site to another in half the time of a wet year...
  20. For me, the line-up has probably 15-20 acts I want to see. Annoyingly, I have tickets to see 1/3 of those already at own shows and there's a fair cross-over with EOTR which I'm doing for the first time. Thinking pay off the deposit and review on the last day for cancellation/refund if the additions haven't swung it. I'd normally not even consider it but none of the rest of my usual group have tickets, and the one mate who did has decided to put his back in.
  21. Glasto aren't paying a million for a second stage headliner. More chance of PJ apologising for doubling their prices than that happening.
  22. Idles should draw a decent crowd. Fontaines may pull a few thousand away from them. There will be a good chunk of folks making the Pyramid to Other stumble for LCD into Idles.
  23. Interesting that they've basically given us the lineup for people at home watching on TV. No Acoustic, Dance Village, Avalon etc.
  24. Congratulations! It'll be the last place you want to be when it's 30 degrees plus and sunny all day. My preparation was attending the Hold Steady's London weekender. Three shows in 3 nights, a lot of drinking and a lack of sleep, got home yesterday and am still dying on the sofa. I am not currently anywhere close to match fitness!
  25. I thought the same but regarding Bristol, until I remembered it's a completely different show later in the year. The band are great, but the shows that are just him and Steve (the keyboard player) are (IMO) far better as they don't feel obliged to play too many of the "hits".
