Both their monthly Spotify listeners are around 1 million which seems very low to me for headliners, I guess Liam has the Oasis songs to fall back on but still. Maybe it's not the best way to measure popularity.

It looks they're trying to pivot away from the younger crowd, I think most teenagers probably consider Liam and Gerry a bit naff.

He seemed to do a cameo with someone or other nearly every year but stopped after people made jokes about it on social media. I'm not sure why that would bother him really.

Also if Coldplay weren't massive it would mean all the dweebs would be showing up at the cool gigs instead which would be a nightmare.

I don't even think their early stuff holds up that well especially their 2nd album, I liked it at the time though.

They're both still pretty decent albums and AM wasn't out the last time they headlined. Coldplay aren't really going to add anything new to their last set beyond a BTS collaboration.

Also are Coldplay seriously going to get to headline again after another dud of an album just because they're mates with the organisers? Surely not. Dave Grohl needs to take a break from the festival too.

I managed to bet £8 (the maximum) on Depeche Mode at 25/1 earlier before the odds dropped, it probably won't happen but it'll pay a fair chuck of my ticket if it does.

100% she's playing, Dublin's like a 40 minute flight away.

I could see the Saturday and Sunday both selling out, they've been quite smart with the headliners.

That's actually not bad. Fred Again will obviously shift a lot of tickets but so too will Boygenius despite them probably getting a lot of "who?" responses once they're announced. I'm not sure how many weekend tickets they'll sell though.

Right enough, I probably should've read the thread first. What about King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard as one of the out there co-headliners? Not sure if they're big enough but are headlining End of the Road the week after.

Him playing a sub pyramid slot just as the sun sets could be pretty amazing.

Bon Iver would probably have to play high up on the pyramid, he seems too big for anywhere else.
