  1. It's miniscule compared to Latitude and not camping, but in Cromer, Norfolk there is one of those small cover band festivals that is happening the weekend just before the new lockdown date (weekend before Latitude). I was sure it would be cancelled, but they have just announced that it is still going ahead just with more social distancing measures and reduced capacity.

Now this is small and although it's a 2 day event, there is no camping. It's also 100% outdoors in open air and you're allowed to bring camping chairs so naturally socially distanced even in a normal year, but interesting that they feel confident they can press ahead.

  2. In 2010 we all met up in Wells at 9:00pm had food and a quick beer, then drove to the carpark. Zero traffic, we got in easily parking close to Pedestrian gate D.

Had a few beers then tried to sleep in the car. With all the noise and discomfort of a fully packed hatchback, there was no chance of sleep. So by 5:00am Wednesday we decided to join the queue. Maybe 200 people in front of us. At 7:30 I went for a wee and saw how big the queue had got. Literally 1000's & 1,000s of people.

This year we are arriving Tuesday night again and are going to join the queue fairly soon. Maybe 2:00 am. That way atleast we can stretch our legs out and relax. Maybe sleep a bit too.

Getting there early means you can have first choice in any field. Being at the back of the queue would be a nightmare with the uneven ground and stopping every two meters as you slowly move forward. Better to get there early then walk straight in to wristband collection. Pitch tent at 8:30 then catch up on a few Zzzz's in your tent. Then go get a well earned Cider.

I guess rain could alter those plans though
