What I love about victorious is it caters for all. Half the line up I can be blissfully unaware of with the likes of Jess Glynne, Becky Hill and Louis Tomlinson, who folk will be absolutely buzzing for I’m sure! And then in parallel they’ll have Idles, Pixies and Biffy and a host of indie right up my street. Not too many fests on that scale with such variety
Not wanting to wish the summer away but can’t wait for this and then have my first Shiiine On festival to look forward to in November. Any Victorious regulars been to that before? Other than the fb page doesn’t seem to be much online presence -

Think it's for Southsea Castle (Henry the Eighth) - they have DJ's in there over the festival. Every time we had a look the queues outside were too big so it must be popular!
Ah right, I’d thought it may have been a cryptic clue for a new band!

We’re not going this year, too much travel, can’t afford it, lineup will be rubbish… beers not been as good… tried telling myself all these things but gave in and booked up weekend tickets and student accommodation 🤣 can’t wait!! Pixies, Idles, Slaves/SoftPlay and Biffy all giving victorious a bit of an edge 👍 but tonnes of bands up my street
See you all there!

How did you get on? did you get a coach package?
No luck with coach or Sunday tickets, not even a sniff. Will try the resale! 🤞

Do they have multiple days though? If I’m lucky enough to get tickets will be an Edinburgh/ Glasgow job. Thursday to Monday is the plan as we abandon the kids with grandparents! Was assuming you’d get a choice of days

All the best to everyone trying this evening. Have everything prepared and Keep calm🤞
Any tips on how to travel down from Falkirk, assuming you are from Ayrshire! 🤣
planning on attempting to get any coach ticket I can, problem being the missus gets travel sick. But sure I could enjoy the coach Atmos and she can sleep!

Hoping to get to Glastonbury first time this year, first time it’s not overlapped with sons birthday and wife is 40 next year so the stars have aligned!!
Would be travelling down from glasgow/Edinburgh. Anyone know what the coach/ticket deals are like in terms of days/time they leave? Or how much of a pain in the arse is to get down to Glastonbury by other public transport from up north? Desperate for a ticket so trying for coach deal first else will try again for ticket only and worry about logistics after
cheers!

Blossoms, billy nomates, the view, charlatans, calboa, kojacks revenge, supersonic and JK for us. Was a great day, only a wee bit of rain and at least on my iPhone looks similar weather today 🤞
Charlatans were my highlight, but always would be! Calboa were a nice little band, had vibes of crying lightning era arctic monkeys
only disappointment for me is the lack choice in booze. A few craft beers options would be nice!
love the coral but the cribs is a brilliant replacement, really pulled that one out the bag! This is my fave day by a mile, just band after band for me
enjoy everyone ✌️ ❤️

100% no harm in trying to sneak booze in. The pouches kelstar posted are what we use, but always take home to re-use at next fest 🤣 do buy beer/soft drinks in the venue, but these are ideal for a few cheeky jack daniels.

I agree. After the great line up last year, and them adding the whole site on the Friday, I honestly expected more. Dont get me wrong, there are some good acts, and some of the local/unsigned acts are amazing. It has not put me off, but I am local, so its just a Taxi/Bus ride to the site, and my own bed. I dont have the extra cost of travel/hotels.
Be interesting to see how busy it is compared to previous years.
The Cribs have been getting added on to a few fests, was holding out for them, but yeah like you say it’ll be good regardless

So, who's going to this one? Bought the ticket based on the lineup (and visiting Scotland for the 1st time seems like a nice bonus) but then I read up on the impressions from previous years and it looks like the crowds are ... kinda insufferable, especially if you're older?
Going on the Friday, it’s almost 2 festivals in 1, barely see the young team as they’re at the slam tent (or whatever it’s called!). Might get a bit of crossover with The View, but to be fair 99% of folk are just there for a good time, no trouble 👍

All the more excited for this after my first festival of the year just got cancelled 3 days before go 😭😭😭
Train and Hotel booked (non refundable) to Newcastle. Line up of Ian Brown, Happy Mondays, Cast and the Lightning Seeds for my day. Quite victorious friendly. Gutted, but would be a shame to waste a sitter, so night out in the Toon it is then!
-
Marr headlining the Sunday is ideal for me! Quite shocked the charlatans are 4th top on the Friday. On one hand hoping fewer acts and they’ll get a decent length slot, on the other I’d quite like a few more surprises!

yep your right .dont now where jamie came from.hope they ok for vic,was gonna b one of my highlights
Always put on an entertaining show one way or another! Same, they were a Friday stick on for me. Hoping the charlatans get a decent length set as they could reel out classics for hours

kyle punched jamie and then jamie walked off .kyle played half set and got jamie back on and walked off stating that could only be 1 lead singer .
Pretty sure it was Kieran that Kyle lamped. Usually kyle plays guitar and sings but for a few tunes when the bass is a bit trickier (skag trendy), they swap and Kieran takes on vocals. Kieran’s a top bloke but Kyle is 90% of the talent in the band, reckon he’s just a bit pissed off after playing on his own for a while and now sharing the stage with some folk!
I reckon they’ll be fine for vic. Any publicity is good publicity right?! 😬

No that’s because I didn’t fill the bottom ones. As i said previously there’s more than enough acts already that the Common and Castle are already full
👍 I was getting excited then 🤣

Jamiraqoui, Raye, Friendly Fires, Jake Bugg, Circa Waves, Mae Muller, Cian Ducrot, Blossoms, Katy J Pearson
Pete Tong, The Charlatans, Katy B, The View, Billy Nomates, Wunderhorse
Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, Belle & Sebastian, The Coral, Kate Nash, Inspiral Carpets, Natalie Imbruglia
Alt J, The Divine Comedy, Amyl & The Sniffers, Pale Waves, Shame
Mumford & Sons, Ben Howard, Sigrid, The Vaccines, Johnny Maar, Heather Small, Crawlers, Gabrielle Climi, Hard Fi
Ellie Goulding, Sea Girls, The Enemy, Dylan, The Go Team
Something like that seems reasonably likely to me. Obvs add an act here and there.
So based on that assumption only 5/6 bands announced for castle stage each day. Could be a couple of nice surprises each day still?

I agree with Simsy, if you head to Albert Road, Elm Grove and the pubs she suggested, your probably find something.
or facebook search a guy called Nick Courtney, he’s a local promoter who always advertising what’s on in local area. X
Thanks both!

Albert road is normally a good bet, but is there anything in particular you're after (hipster craft beer, old man pubs, cheesey nightclubs etc)?
90s Britpop, noughties indie in the mould of libertines/yeah yeah yeahs, some Bowie, T-Rex, bit of mod or classic Beatles/Stones, punk/post punk stuff. Pretty much any guitar based music from the 60s onwards 😇
The music wins over the quality of pint/venue for me please 😁

Not sure when the stage splits are, but seaside stage won't be there this year (or next I think). That area's closed off for a few years while work is being done on the sea defences.
Yeah assumed that even though that part was a gonna this year they would have an equivalent new stage elsewhere 🤷♂️
Saturday is ridiculously good for us this year, but Friday/Sunday a bit light. We’re down on the Thursday for the 1st time this year staying at student digs! Any recommendations for where to go on the Thursday night for a vic warm up?

I’m going with the missus for her 40th and I have some hair left so sounds like we’ll be a glamour couple 🤣
Echo and the bunnymen headlining, never seen them in the victorious bill which surprises me. Alongside kula shaker and embrace plus plenty of indie and 90s dance shenanigans. A pub quiz with former shed 7 drummer, a day time rave and an evening with Bez! Sounds much fun
do we think we’ll get much more in bands for victorious? Any obvious gaps? Looks pretty full
