  1. Interesting points made in a BBC article about Latitude today. Artists having to keep their distance from each other backstage and effectively self isolate between gigs, otherwise they could knock themselves out of the next weekend’s festival. And then everyone would get Sleaford Mods. Sex, drugs & rock n roll on pause for now.
  2. I'm totally with you on this, though I've yet to try Black Deer. Willy Tea Taylor fits your brief, as does Jake Xerxes Fussell - if they end up attending. The Folk/Americana vibe is a small niche of EOTR now, whereas it was the main theme in the early years. There were also a few years with a good smattering of Psych and Garage Rock bands. And then the years when John Grant was ever present! Oh, he's back again. Still an interesting mix though.
  3. I haven’t seen anything like that so far, but then it might be way way down in the small print. That said, I just don’t think they’re planning for international travelers this year.
  4. It is but each test has a unique QR code that needs to be logged when you upload your results to the NHS site. They can then tie the test kits and results to your NHS profile and issue a proof of test certificate (AKA Covid Passport) for download. You'd have to take the printout with you to the festival, or a similar record on a smartphone app.
  5. Most festival announcements since the Green Man one have tightened up on the lateral flow time period, stating that it must be done on the day of travel prior to leaving for the festival. I think they view 48 hours as providing too much opportunity for socialising after the test is taken.
  6. That’s End of the Road. Always look beyond the headliners for the gems.
  7. I'd love that. Primal Scream seem to be out there a lot too.
  8. Having witnessed the full sensory onslaught of The Flaming Lips a few years back (and loved it), I’m just really interested to see how two blokes and a laptop can carry it off on the Woods Stage. Normally, headliners get a bigger lights show, but I guess that’s not very Sleaford.
  9. This is Green Man's COVID policy. Very sensible. Everyone’s safety is our number one priority. To gain entry to GM this year, anyone over the age of 16 will have to demonstrate that they’ve received two vaccinations at least 14 days before arrival or show that they’ve received a negative NHS lateral flow test within 48 hours prior to their arrival. We totally understand that some people may not feel ready to return this year, so if you have tickets and don’t want to attend, please contact Ticketline to arrange a refund or rollover to 2022, you must do this before 5pm 23rd July.
  10. It's interesting to see that Standon Calling are requiring everyone to get pre-tested and to show proof of a negative result using a particular app (Certific) before the event, even those who are double vaccinated. That's one way of creating equality for all I suppose, though at a cost. It looks like this has been in the planning for months, so who knows where EOTR stands on something like this. https://standon-calling.com/pre-event-covid-certification-process/
  11. Taking the sides off the Big Top and Tipi is the sensible thing to do, if technically possible. I won't be going in there without it, even though double jabbed. They may have difficulty swapping the Big Top for an open stage, because the noise is heard at the other stages in the day and in the camping areas late at night.
  12. Looks like Covid passports for businesses and large events might be back on the cards, according to Javid's announcement to MP's just now. The difference is that this is now an advisory rather than a legal requirement. I kind of hope EOTR do choose to use it as an extra precaution, it could reduce some anxiety for people.
  13. I heard the guy who runs Latitude, Reading and Leeds festivals on Radio 4 this morning. Asked specifically about whether he'll put up signs to advise people to wear masks inside tented stages, his view was that every festival needs to consider its age profile and that, since his festivals are mainly under 30's, he didn't think it was necessary because of their very low risk profile. I'd imagine EOTR has a broader age profile than this, especially as it's held after the schools go back.
  14. It is looking more hopeful. I do think it would be sensible for them to adapt the indoor stages, taking the sides off the Big Top for example. They might then have to be even more careful to avoid set overlaps, with the potential for noise to carry.
