  1. I'm listening to the playlist and I've liked evrything so far. Will definitely be doing deeper investigations into Overmono, Kokoko!, Kokoroko. Heck, I might even play Kokomo to finish with.
  2. I think that sums up my reaction to the first announcement every year, but the discovery of mid and lower order acts is the real jewel in the crown. And sometimes the Woods headliners turn out to be way better than I expected (e.g. Misty, St. Vincent).
  3. I saw Personal Trainer supporting Pip Blom pre-Covid and they stole the show. They were a lot of fun.
  4. I just did a conversion to Tidal: https://tidal.com/browse/playlist/0a0e4a7d-7cb9-430c-bc80-4c16b8718c89 And to Deezer: https://deezer.page.link/6zyyhhydepHo5Dv38 There were a couple of errors / tracks missing in both cases.
  5. I saw her play for 30 minutes in a local record store last week, just her on guitar and a friend playing some kind of banjo/lute like thing. Very chilled out, mesmeric sounds. Would be great in an intimate setting like the Talking Heads stage.
  6. Bodega - Broken Equipment Cat Power - Covers Darren Hanlon - Life Tax (an EOTR discovery!) Fern Maddie - Ghost Story Fujiya & Miyagi - Slight Variations (would love to see them at EOTR) The Hanging Stars - Hollow Heart (great Americana from a UK band, seeing them tonight in Winchester) Katy J Pearson - Sound of the Morning Kevin Morby - This is a Photograph (he officially "won" EOTR 2022 IMO) Naima Bock - Giant Palm The Orielles - Tableau Pale Blue Eyes - Souvenirs Warpaint - Radiate Like This Wet Leg - Wet Leg Wunderhorse - Cub
  7. Add Band of Horses to the "have seen at EOTR" list (who would be good to get back). Built to Spill have a great new album and fit this bill too.
  8. EOTR has been great for seeing US bands I've got into - The New Pornographers, White Denim, The Black Angels. Hope they can keep it going with bands like DC4C and Spoon.
  9. Broken Bells have new material out. They'd be good.
  10. I didn't smell tobacco smoke all weekend, but got bloody fed up with the stink of spliff. Agree with many that Pixies was uninteresting after 4 or 5 songs. Kevin Morby smashed it, Wave Pictures fun. Newly impressed with The Heavy Heavy and The Bug Club. Growing love for acoustic sets on the Talking Heads stage (I wish they would do these late on, as an alternative to the Tipi Tent). The dark beers were ace - a porter and a stout - until they ran out (too soon).
  11. It was all good once they cleaned the loos after Thursday. Music and food excellent as always. i hope they might consider doing something later on the Talking Heads Stage, for those that want to come down gently, instead of only having the raucous Tipi Tent option.
  12. I found there were no campervan early birds available, and then there were. It felt like a second release of tickets was made available.
  13. I’m finding the Met Office app to appear optimistic, whereas really it’s slow to catch up with the others.
  14. That doesn't look or sound like the Fat Dog from the EOTR playlist, who have an 80s US rock sound and sing about junk food (I do like a novelty act). Is it the same band?
  15. With everyone piling down to the Garden Stage on Saturday, I will have to park my deck chair nice and early.
  16. I will bet on Japanese Television and Alexandra Savior, both in Bristol around then, with gaps that fit.
  17. Great idea. I was always trying to guess at some of those. These next ones were tracks I'd previously noted, all missing from this compilation - so roll on Volume 2! In Spite of Ourselves - John Prine It's All Over Now, Baby Blue - Them Satellite of Love - Lou Reed Ashes to Ashes - David Bowie Southern Man - Neil Young This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) - Talking Heads The Letter - The Box Tops God Only Knows - The Beach Boys
  18. He’d probably refuse to play any classics. Most disappointing concert of my life.
  19. Always good to start with some country-tinged folk, to ease your way in gently, though my "recovery" will be about two Bloody Mary's in at this stage. These acts always seem to tell good stories between songs too. One more vote for Jake Xerxes Fussell.
  20. I love this album, especially Saving Grace. Weighty pop.
  21. Alexandra Savior in Brighton on 1st and Bristol on 2nd. Would be great to see her there.
  22. Rose City Band announced to play Manchester Psych Festival on 3 Sept, so might hopefully be announced for us on the same weekend. Except that 1 Sept would be their only free date.
  23. We had to watch a ranty man and someone swaying near a laptop as headliners last year, so steps in the right direction. Also, Conor Oberst headlined the Garden Stage in the early years, so is probably seen as a trusted supporter of the festival.
