  1. If I remember correctly, which I probably don’t, you didn’t really notice once you were in. I wonder if they’ll do similar this year (hence the name being more than just a festival logo thing) and have a v shaped tent providing some open air space too in the middle. Assume it will just be the old big tent and therefore a huge rectangle. Adds some intrigue for now though
  2. Prob a good few vids on YouTube
  3. Could happen they had a chevron/ Y shaped Big tent for a bit, was weird…
  4. IoW capacity is roughly half that of Reading’s Tickets are also a fair bit cheaper Main differenence is deffo the demographic though
  5. They’re different festivals for different crowds IoW is very much a boomer fest, Prodigy will be bigger than Fred Again for the majority of the clientele
  6. Was 9 pre 2020 wasn’t it? Wouldnt be surprised if they reduce it. Hopefully we’ll get longer sets rather than longer gaps…
  7. Like that time MGK was on video with Yungblud, only a little less distasteful
  8. Unless last year was different, I’ve not seen it packed to the rafters for eons. Even the last Don Broco secret set was easy enough to get in to
  9. Some dance head on here will have an idea as to how many he’ll be able to pull from Fred
  10. Fred and I assume Sonny Fodera will pull enough away, to make it OK. You’d assume given 2 dance acts that Wombats would have bigger crowd than Fodera, no idea how big he is though!
  11. I didnt do it, was someone on Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/readingfestival/s/DwL8IRenFL
  12. It is interesting that having gone back to this format, where they can offer strong alternatives, they haven’t tried to theme the main stages more Personally as a weekend goer, I like it mixed up, I imagine most day trippers going for a headliner would like a little more they like throughout the day, even if spread about the various stages
  13. Yup, they’re an absolute pisser but shows strength in depth and ultimately much, much better than having nothing you want to see on!
  14. The Blink/ Prodigy clash is interesting. Deffo the worst of the headliners option to clash for me. Im guessing there is probably a bigger Gallagher Prodigy fan base crossover so maybe Fred Again would make most sense assuming there is a generational gap maybe at play there… There are lots of 30-40 something’s who absolutely hate Blink, so it may be a great choice and we just happen to be a majority minority on here I have no idea who Sonny Fodera is, will be draw a decent amount away from Fred?
  15. TDCC won’t clash with Gerry the sh*t poster suggests that may happen, this is a better view of what I assume it will be If like previous years, the bigger stage headliners will all be playing at the same time. The FR/ Pit/ 1 Xtra has closed pre final Headliner before
  16. I think it will end up being the exact same tent, in the exact same location. All they really need is better screens in there and it will provide a good experience for the bands programmed. Old big tent back for Chevron, although it may be a bit sh*t for the less popular dance acts... Saying that though, the dance tent pre 2020 in the location it had between the Main Stage and Big tent was Always busy, I think the kids just naturally went there as opposed to back to their tents at that time, so maybe people will be drawn to Chevron as a default now when the main stage doesnt grab them... Hopefully they'll offer a larger 'Tubourg town' type thing with the space the Dance tent was in 2019, otherwise the FR could go there, freeing up the space where Pit/ 1 Extra and FR for something new, maybe thats where a new VIP bit will be if they expand 'the lounge'. I can only see that taking off really though if there is a view of the main stage from it, which will be hard with the slope down to it.
  17. GLORY BE THE BIG TENT! All that's left now to see is how BIG it actually is. 😍
  18. First point is fair! Second point, I did not say they've built their sound off Wet Leg. I suggested that acts like them are going to be "pushed, due to Wet Leg's success". What annoyed me at the time was your response suggested it was some grossly misogynistic view. Its not a massively controversial statement, its not a statement that said The Last Dinner Party are purposefully copying Wet Leg (they could have been around a decade before Wet Leg for all I know), its a simple fact of the music industry (indeed all industries) that when something is popular, businesses (not just record labels), will try to get in on the market. Its no different to all the "The" indie landfill bands being pushed in the early 00s, all the emo bands in the mid, late 00s. its what happens. GFA is only liking it because he was wrong about the BIG TENT coming back!!!! Edit - Im am seriously astounded by the fact you don't listen to Sinner and Nothing Matters and think, these would sound like good v good Wet Leg songs though(yes yes obv produced differently)
  19. Great response bro 👍🏼 You obviously don’t listen to enough music by women to be able to determine similarities and differences between them. What a horrible misogynist /s “But one is post punk and the other 70s. baroque pop” 🥱. It doesn’t mean they can’t be similar. Saying they were Kate Bush copyist would be a fair more lazy comparison if it was about the sound… If you want to be cynical about their existence, the fact they’ve popped up right after Kate Bush got massive with Gen Z AND Wet Leg got big would deffo be an 🤔moment for the haters… I couldn’t give a flying f**k if they’re an industry plant, plucked form the best performers in the Kate Bush does Wet Leg touring tribute show. All that matters is whether you like it all not, you don’t need to protect what you like from the barbs of others. f**k them…
  20. I think you’re right. The beauty of the 6 headliner thing is in the marketing. In effect they can call anyone they want a headliner and it will help sell the fest as long as they have 3 bins fide, big names You will get people whining about Cinnamon, CATBM, Imagine Dragons, Foals, Megan Thee Stallion not being big enough to headline, simply calling them headliners helps sell what would be at worst very strong subs.
  21. I’m sorry if you don’t think Sinner and Nothing Matters sounds like Wet Leg songs you’re clinically deaf Yes, they’re not identical obv, they have different singers, different production, if you can’t see the similarities in song structure, themes etc, then you’re mad! And yes I listen to loads of female indie, inc Wet Leg and TLDP. Of them theyre the only two I would say are similar… It’s not some barbed criticism, I like both
  22. She suits the sunset spot well though Although would work for Fred too…
  23. As long as whatever they do doesn’t create a Spiritbox - Mannequin Pussy clash all is good
  24. a speedy photo shopper has done this, looks so much better and comprehendible https://www.reddit.com/r/readingfestival/s/QVGhFMTbBz
  25. Reckon that’s it. Makes sense on pretty much every level. Ultimately we’re still two stages down on 2019 but I can’t help thinking it’s still much better than the last 3 years with loads of relatively big name, different stuff for people to see throughout the day Likes of Japanese House and Mannequin Pussy (and loads I don’t personally know no doubt) seems to show that they’re trying to offer some niche more culty stuff again and not just one hit popular crap
