  1. Would love this, but rather selfishly hoping not on Sunday as I'd have to miss them for Kendrick - would be understandable billing though to be fair.
  2. Coverage works completely differently now in the world of digital media. The majority of people who will be sitting watching Glastonbury live on TV on a Saturday (or any day) are older than Doja's and Megan's typical audience anyway. Both Doja and Megan will get huge numbers of coverage (worldwide) from videos on socials / iPlayer / YouTube / red button though and years of replays, regardless of when/where they play and who they're up against. E.g Lizzo's performance of Juice at Glasto 2019 has 7.7m views on YouTube, versus 3.8m from Stormzy and 2.6m from The Cure on the most watched videos from their headline sets.
  3. Doja headlining Other Stage on Saturday night with Megan Thee Stallion subbing up against Paul / Noel G sounds about right to me
  4. Only been lucky enough to go to Glasto once in 2019 and camped in Oxylers. To be honest we were actually aiming for Pennards because we’d heard of its party atmosphere but we gave up on the walk from the gate A after clocking a decent spot in Oxylers. Loved the location and proximity to everything and still found it lively. This year we’re unsure whether we’ll go back to Oxylers or try and make it Pennards. We finished every night in the SE corner until stupid hours last time and will probably do the same this year so it would make sense, and as a group we’re up for being in a loud and lively environment. People who have camped in both - which do you prefer? Will be arriving around 8.15am on Wednesday morning (getting 7am coach from Bristol but got a flexi ticket which can be changed if needs be).
  5. Bad wording from me, I just meant hip hop artists which might not fit on the main stages. Those Silver Hayes days are decent enough and some good UK names, but I was talking mainly about the kind of names you've mentioned like Your Old Droog and other US artists - Conway The Machine, Curren$y, JID, Benny The Butcher, Mach Hommy, Boldy James, Armand Hammer, etc. The line up is usually lacking in these type of names, which is why it'd benefit from a platform for them at the festival outside of the main stages. Would love to see a US name appear on West Holts' poster when it comes out anyway, lots of acts about who would fit on there like Pusha T, Freddie Gibbs, Noname, JPEGMAFIA, Denzel Curry, Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples, Saba.
  6. It wouldn't necessarily have to be a 'main' stage, the main stages are a melting pot of genres which already feature bigger hip hop artists - and you're right that it should stay this way. It's the fringe areas which give smaller acts a platform and make the festival come to life though, so what I was suggesting was a hip hop-leaning stage or area, similar to how NYC Downlow, IICON and Genosys in Block9 celebrate dance / queer culture for example, or how William Green hosts up-and-coming indie acts in an intimate setting, but with a focus on alternative hip hop artists. I suppose it could work within the SE corner or an additional part of Silver Hayes, but with its own identity rather than piggybacking onto one of the existing stage brands. I think this would go down really well and do a lot of good for the festival, allowing them to book acts which might not fit on the bigger stages (yet) as well as surprise appearances from artists playing the main stages.
  7. Could and definitely should have more hip hop, both from the US and the UK. I like the line up as a whole, and there are a few great names from the genre on there (Ghetts is one of the best artists I saw last year, Little Simz is killing it, Doja/Megan huge mainstream names, and Kendrick is one of the greatest of all time) but hoping to see more hip hop names on the undercard in the individual area line ups. Gutted that Danny Brown and Earthgang weren’t retained. Been told Sonic Stage at Silver Hayes is doing a designated rap / hip hop day (then 1x dnb day and 1x house day) so we’ll get some more on there at least - can’t remember if they always do this. I loved seeing Denzel Curry on the Truth Stage in Shangri La in 2019 - one of my favourite sets of the festival. Hip hop could really do with its own stage / area (as well as the usual few bigger names on the main stages) like some other genres have which allow you to enjoy the music in the right context and intimacy - e.g Williams Green for indie, the countless dance music areas / sub genre stages, acoustic stage, etc. Would allow the festival to book a wider range of names who don’t necessarily fit on the main stages and probably would be more enjoyable for the artists than being wedged between an indie band and a pop act on the main stages (for example). This would also eventually open up and diversify the Glasto crowd to more hip hop heads which is probably needed a bit, so you don’t have people questioning how big a crowd an artist as highly regarded as Kendrick Lamar will get. Obviously this is something the festival has improved on in recent years and they’ve given iconic headline sets to some of the bigger names and a huge (and much needed) step up for UK artists of the genre with Stormzy, so no criticism intended - just would be good to see this reflected on the undercard. Would love to see the Griselda lot, Jay Electronica, Freddie Gibbs, Curren$y, Mach Hommy, JID, Action Bronson, Boldy James, Earl Sweatshirt, Potter Payper, Unknown T, JME, Vince Staples, and DJ sets from Madlib, Alchemist, Tiffany Calver, etc. Hip hop is the biggest genre in the world now, so any ‘contemporary’ multi-genre music festival should be representing all beautiful sides of it. Might convert a few non-hip hop fans who stumble in out of curiosity, which is what it’s all about - isn’t it?
  8. Kanye and Kendrick headlining the same festival is huge, fair play.
  9. Paul McCartney Kendrick Lamar Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds Foals Arlo Parks Sam Fender Greentea Peng Metronomy Sleaford Mods Seun Kuti & Fela’s Egypt 80 King Krule Bonobo Yussef Dayes Nubiyan Twist TLC Bicep Caribou Jamie XX HAIM Years and Years
  10. They've also said Baby Keem is an exclusive so hoping they're using that term loosely. Suppose it might mean he only appears on stage with Kendrick rather than getting his own set. Interesting that Tyler is only down as a 'London exclusive' though, which suggests he's playing another festival in England outside of London... Is he down for anywhere else currently? Can only think of Longitude in Dublin but might be forgetting one Edit: Parklife - my bad!
  11. Also agree. Despite the fact I would happily pay it blindly (as would everyone using this forum I imagine), I think a lot of general festival-goers and punters would not feel too positively about parting with the full £280 before seeing at least some of the line up - particularly those with less disposable income. Glastonbury is Glastonbury regardless of the line up, but there are still other festivals/events which people may prefer to spend their money on if it meets their tastes more, or if their favourite artist is playing elsewhere. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I think you're right that the festival understand this too, after a pandemic I would imagine they'll be sensitive about this and will drop the poster/first initial names on Monday or Tuesday. Could be wrong though!
  12. A$AP Rocky, J Cole, Tyler The Creator at Wireless Crystal Park SZA, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B at Wireless Finsbury Park Dave at Wireless Birmingham Over first two weekends of July
  13. Don't think he is sadly but I'm not 100% on that - I believe some of the names being announced for that (which aren't already) include The Strokes, Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Jimmy Eat World, Sky Ferreira and PinkPantheress
  14. Ah shiet, I didn't see that one - my bad. That's quite harsh considering the break, guess they don't want to set a precedent of it - probably a fair few people in the same position. Could try a carefully worded email anyway asking really nicely and see what happens, sounds like this person tweeting has maybe wanted to cancel their coach altogether rather than transfer to another so there's a fraction of hope
  15. Not sure who you spoke to try and sort this, but if it was National Express or See Tickets who said no to you then you could have another go and ask help@glastonburyfestivals.co.uk to help out. I saw Emily replied to someone on Twitter recently who also had their situation change and needed to change their coach but had been told no, and Emily said they should email this address. Maybe you've already gone down that route but worth a shot if not! Bit of a different scenario this year with nearly a three year break between ticket sales and festival so think your situation can be forgiven - and they're doing another round of coaches in the resale anyway so hopefully it's not that much of a logistical nightmare for them to sort.
  16. Seen a couple of predictions with Fontaines DC on the Saturday. Is there info pointing to this day for them or is this just a guess? I liked the shout from someone suggesting they headline Park Stage, would work well against Billie on the Friday.
  17. 1975 and Florence both seem likely. I'm hoping for the Foos personally, although I don't think you could put them anywhere for a secret/unannounced set other than Pyramid or Other Stage without causing a potential dangerously busy crowd. Could see Dave Grohl turning up on stage with Paul McCartney if he's playing. Dre would be unreal of course, suppose if he was a guest for Kendrick then it wouldn't be completely out of the question - but still reckon he would rather be billed on the line up (and paid), which he'd headline. Not a bad shout actually, Billie Joe was bouncing about the farm in 2019 to catch his son's band and I can't see where else they'd fit on a Glasto line up in 2022. Would mean four nights in a row for them, but wouldn't put it past them. Would like to see a secret set from The Streets somewhere. Mike self confirmed for 2020 under his own name and can't see why he wouldn't roll that over, and if he's about anyway then I could see it happening. The JP tent was absolutely rammed when they headlined it in on the Sunday in 2019, I couldn't even get in - so maybe on The Park stage, or better so a random stage in one of the areas in the SE corner at 2am or something.
  18. Baby Keem I would think, and if he releases a new album by then we could see Jorja Smith and/or Florence & The Machine if either of them are on it - maybe a bit of a long shot but both were featured in the pglang promo video (along with Keem) so seem to be somewhat involved in whatever he's been up to

    Kendrick Lamar

Looking forward to this on Wednesday. Hoping this increase in activity is heading towards an album rollout (the Milan festival are claiming he'll be playing new music), but after hearing nothing from him for months and getting last night's performance, a show announcement today and this - it's good to see him come out of hiding regardless.
  20. Speaking of which, Kendrick has spoken extremely highly of Little Simz before and she's also covered one of his tunes, if his next album drops before Glasto (unsure that it will but speaking hypothetically) then it would be amazing to see her featured on a track and then join him for it on the Pyramid stage edit - don't think her dates would allow this actually
  21. Really enjoyed that personally. Thought it started a little flat (probably due to the context and sound more than anything else) but overall was fantastic. Kendrick's section was the stand out for me, delivery was great and whoever was looking after his wardrobe/outfit did a killer job. Anderson Paak's infectious smile on drums was a nice touch also. Iconic all round
  22. 50 Cent is going to be there apparently, has been spotted at rehearsals - not sure if that’s who they’re referring to
