Yeh I generally check out the bands on these lists that I’m not aware of and occasionally make a good discovery. You’re right in saying bands do get on there due to expectation rather than earning which can be frustrating my most recent kerrang discovery was code orange who’s last album was incredible callous daoboys were a recommendation I picked up in the heavy releases thread in the download sub thread

Respect how high up callous daoboys are, probably my favourite of the year i like nova twins but I think that’s a bit high for them Also I’m a massive architects fan but their album this year was poor, it didn’t sound great live when they were supporting biffy either. Feel like they are only on the list because of who they are

Agreed 90% is a stretch unless it’s like a prog metal show as they are very noticeably extremely male heavy. At a typical metal show I have noticed in the recent years it becoming more of a split Also I don’t see it as a problem

The underworld club nights are basically just Indy nowadays which is a shame Id love some metal at glasto, I pretty much just listen to metal and dance music nowadays
