It is, though them headlining against The Stones was funny. If nothing else is on, and with the earlier finish, I might still go. Generally a fun gig.

Still quite incredible that they play smallish venues around the rest of the country but get crowds like this in Liverpool. Impromptu singalong there, started in the crowd after they'd finished the song. I guess the same happens with a lot of other acts (Courteeners, Jamie Webster etc.) but perhaps not such a big contrast.

Personally I hope Avalon now stays away from the novelty pop acts. It looks like they are now being given slots on bigger stages and pulling huge crowds in many cases. Leave Avalon to be one of the few places with folk/rock/punk stuff on.
