  1. I guess you haven't been trying every time because 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003 were super easy to get tickets for. 2003 was the first one to sell out quickly, but it still took ~1 day and the website didn't crash or anything, there was no ticket panic because we didn't know it would sell out that quickly. You could buy your ticket any time at your leisure on ticket sale day. 2005 and 2007 both sold out super quickly with the now-familiar website crashes etc. 2008 didn't sell out until just before the festival began, they were even selling tickets in HMV that year: https://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/08/080608a.shtml I believe 2009 onwards, every year sold out immediately (i.e. as fast as the website would allow)

    Carparks

Leaving East 12 (blue) was a challenge - got to the car around 11.30am and sat stationary in a queue for about 4 hours. Then moved slowly and in short bursts for 1 hour. Finally hit the road at 4.30pm. The stewards were managing the queues inefficiency in such a way that many people were getting to their cars and driving straight out, essentially by filtering into the front of the queues, while others like us were stuck at the back for multiple hours. Told our concerns to the guy managing the traffic at the exit to the field, who told us he'd report us to the police if we argued with him...!
  3. App has been pretty awful IMO (android version). Hard to scroll around the lineup without accidentally clicking on act names. When clicking on an act and going "back" it doesn't go back to the exact same place. The stage name is supposed to stay above the lineup when you scroll to the right, but it often doesn't. You need to scroll all the way back to the start of the day to make the stage name 'stick' again. The search function is poor. One act I noticed has been spelled in two different ways on the lineup (Showhawk Duo, The Showhawk Duo) so you need to click on both listings to find all their appearances. Plus my phone warned me that my battery is being drained by the Glastonbury app because it's frequently crashing. I found previous years EE app to be a far better and smoother user experience.
  4. The amount of people on site when/if it rains is super important. I remember in 2013, Thursday afternoon to early evening, approx. 10mm of rain fell (I was following in real time with models and radar app etc, the weather geek that I am...!). The site became muddy and slippery within a couple of hours, especially any grassy high traffic areas like The Park and major walkways. Not to 2016 levels, but enough to make it unpleasant. It pretty much all dried out quickly throughout Friday morning, but even 10mm can transform the site for the worse. 30-40mm when there's people on site would definitely cause issues. I believe the 2005 storm dropped something like 40-50mm early morning on the Friday, and was pretty awful for anyone that can remember it...! But 30-40mm on Tuesday before the hordes arrive, especially if it's during Monday-Tuesday night, would hopefully not cause any problems. It's the thousands of repeated footsteps on the grass that seem to draw the mud up and transform the site into a sticky brown mess.
  5. Doing a lateral flow test at home to see if you have COVID is not being part of any process, it's not being reported to anyone. It's just useful to know, so that you don't go round spreading a virus that is potentially still dangerous to some people, and many people have some spare tests lying around at home still, so why not? Anyway, I have mild cold symptoms since yesterday and did a lateral flow test this morning, a very faint line appeared. So it seems I've caught it - as far as I know, for the first time! A couple of others in my group have it too.
