  1. It was after Kaiser Chiefs as I recall. I was stumbling back to my tent to *ahem* restock.

Of course it ended up a total load of bollocks, but it does help me explain why some poverty campaigns are doomed to failure!

Any chance of leaving stuff in your mate's house? That would save having to carry it into the festival. If that's not possible, try to head for either gate A or gate C, as there are lockups just inside those. Its a bit further from the other gates to the nearest lockups.

Sadly not. I land and then it's straight to the festival.

  3. As I'm flying in from the Middle East (a no doubt tortuturous flight with Gulf Air) I'll have to have my stuff for the summer with me, including my various electronics (which I really need for work in August), plus a bag full of non festival clothes and what not. What's the deal with having a place to store stuff safely? I'm not too bothered about cost, i'd just rather leave my laptop and Ipad somewhere other than my mates car.

  4. Every single one of these questionnaires which comes up asks if I'm a student or not. How on earth is that relevant?

The age range question is ridiculous in terms of its answers, as is the distance to festivals question.

Also, isn't coming up a bit late to dissertation submission time to be sending a questionnaire out?

yep, India is very forwards with that sort of thing - in some areas, anyway - including women PM's with Indira Gandhi and her daughter-in-law.

I'd guess it's cultural for that part of the world, because a woman leader in Bhutto perhaps isn't what you'd think for generally-conservative Pakistan.

Family connections more than culture led Benazir Bhutto to that position.

I have a number of students from Pakistan who say that it's a dreadful place to be a woman, and these are students who come from decent backgrounds. They say they have much more rights and opportunities here in Qatar than they do back there. One student told me last week that when she goes back to Pakistan, she isn't spoken to at all,  as is her sister, she is just ignored by near enough everyone. She doesn't even get the "You are going to be a doctor" chat which the boys get, she is just expected to get married asap.

  6. This is an awful questionnaire.

Also, what's your sampling frame? Sticking it on here will most likely lead to biased results.

    Employed isn't an occupation.

Also, a Questionnaire like this won't tell you HOW social media is used by marketers at all. I find it amazing that this is even needs explaining. If this Questionnaire if your main research tool then I absolutely despair for your dissertation.

  7. Poor Questionnaire.

    "Employed" is not an occupation

Question 5 is atrocious. "Were you aware of sustainability before Glastonbury Festival?" It's an arts festival which takes place for one week of the year for crying out loud, it doesn't exactly have some kind of hegemony about environmental protection.

Question 6 is in fact two questions. And how are you "Slightly unaware"? You are either aware or you aren't.

    Question 7. Really?

I don't really know what this Questionnaire is about or what you are seeking to achieve in doing so, which is what you should actually be stating at the top of the page.

Any vegetarians here? I'm new to it and less than a week in, bored and hungry.

I'm basically vegan during the week. And for some reason I actually prefer it to being a carnivore.

    Tinned chickpeas are your friend.

Try a slow cooker Dahl. Get some red lentils, and some yellow split peas, cover in water, and cook on low in a slow cooker from the morning until you get home from work.

When you get in, chop two onions, few garlic gloves, as much ginger as you like, and if you like chillis and a bell pepper. Sweat them down, add a tin of chopped tomatoes, cooked down until basically dry and then stir in cumin, coriander, paprika, tumeric and a touch of garam masala. Blitz to a paste. Meanwhile, throw a few veg oxo cubes in the lentils and stir until dissolved. The yellow lentils will dissolve easily but the split peas will mostly hold their texture. After that, throw in the paste, stir. Throw in some sambar curry powder, salt, pepper and you're good to go. Coriander on the top. I prefer it with brown rice.

Me and Bunique have hundreds of vegan recipes between us.
