  1. You think? I know she obviously appeals to the pop punk crowd but she’s basically just a pop act, and considering the high placement she’d undoubtedly get I can’t really see her at Download. Think she’d be more likely for Reading/Leeds on the Blink day if she plays a U.K. festival.
  2. There’s a lot of good stuff there but equal parts generic Slam Dunk filler acts. If the headliners were more enticing I’d maybe be interested, but don’t think I’ll be bothering.
  3. Probably unlikely but goddamn would I be all over that if they did a tour. Played the hell out of that when it came out.

Appear from beneath the stage, pretend to press a few buttons whilst One More Time plays, disappear back below the stage again, get paid a shitload of money for the pleasure… yeah I suppose I can see that.
  5. I’d completely forgotten they supported Slipknot on that tour (and iirc it was like £40 which was an insane steal) but yeah, I remember being very impressed by them and pretty sure I preferred them over Slipknot when I saw them in Liverpool. As for them headlining.. I think it would go down incredibly well on the night, but they’ve spent so long subbing/headlining second stage at this point that I can’t see them ever getting the bump up, plus, they’re just not at the level of usual Download headliners (at least being able to headline arenas on their own). I get the argument for them doing it, but I can totally see why Copping has never gone down that route when he can just have them subbing a much bigger act instead.
  6. Not that I was particularly expecting greatness but this is pretty bland and uninspired even for late career Green Day: At least it’s better than any of that last load of shite album they released, mind.
  7. Cant imagine they’ll still be touring by that time.
  8. Reckon Royal Blood are more likely to be one of the headliners at Reading/Leeds. Even with the two less than metal headliners, I don’t see Download completely changing things up and going in a milder direction across the board.

What possible reason would she have for not wanting to do both Coachella and Glastonbury in the same year? Surely doing both and being a huge talking point at both ends of summer would be much better promo for a new album than doing one a year later.

Christ, looking at that, Madonna really is holding this headliner trio together isn’t she?

What are you even talking about
  12. Each of those three acts is 100% worthy and big enough to headline, but as a trio they just look at odds with what people have to come to expect from Download over the years aka not huge stadium selling metal bands. If FOB or QOTSA had played prior but paired with Slipknot, Metallica, Maiden, Rammstein etc then nobody would bat an eyelid, but A7X, probably the weakest metal headliner Download has in their roster, plus an incredibly un-metal FOB, and QOTSA who are also on the weaker side headliner-wise, screams of ‘all our other headliners were unavailable/played too recently/aren’t touring so we finally had to cave and diversify’, which is what we’ve all been predicting would eventually happen if they didn’t start changing things up periodically through the years. BUT at least they’ve now got two more much needed headliners to fall back on in the future, even if neither is a particularly fresh face on the scene (and knowing Download, probably won’t ever play again).
  13. Just the single today. Album out in January.
  14. Ha glad to see somebody else had the exact same thought when watching The Chase today.
  15. Don't think they were at all likely anyway tbh - their set this year was a concession of them not headlining again any time soon rather than a preview of things to come imo.
  16. Reputation certainly has lower lows but also higher highs, whereas Midnights has the mighty high of Anti-Hero, but then also the rest…
  17. Busted active just after the festival. Get em booked - Other opener, any other slot on Other, daytime Pyramid… just get em booked, guaranteed good time:

I think it’s most likely that they just won’t be booked for Glastonbury and will end up at Download instead if they ever decide to tour properly again. They’re easily big enough to headline Glastonbury and no way would they be booked lower/on the Other Stage, but I just can’t see them being priority and there are other festivals that they’re more suited for.
  19. I think it’s one of her weaker albums by far. Bland production, weak songwriting (especially coming after folklore and evermore which showed real growth) and is all rather blah. But hey, perhaps I’m in the minority there as it’s obviously took her to a whole new level stardom wise, even if that probably would’ve been the case with anything she released at that point.
  20. Kidding yourselves it is then 😉
  21. So now that Midnights has been out for a year are we all ready to admit that it’s incredibly mid or are some of you still kidding yourselves?
  22. Feel like A7X’s extended gap between albums and then the album being pretty uncommercial has taken them down a couple of notches size-wise. Obviously still a big band in the metal scene, especially when there isn’t much competition these days, but not quite the juggernaut they were a decade ago.
