  1. Yeah it's PCR. Hopefully they drop that when their cases plummet like they did in the UK.
  2. Any link to the updated restrictions? Are they doing away with PCR tests to travel to France yet?
  3. Thread to close next Thursday? Hoping France get their act together before I fly to back there next month!
  4. Mine seems to be working better, not as many time outs. Especially on mobile
  5. He was only ever going to be there 10 years.
  6. Not even permanent sites, eg Latitude and IOW this year had fibre/copper temporary installations all over the place, miles of it.. all ripped out after it. To do it on the scale of Glastonbury whilst isn't impossible, would take a hell of a lot of set up and infrastructure.
  7. Brilliant, they are open and places are getting busier and are needing the tourism.. Fully vaccinated only need Negative PCR <72 hours before departure, fill online health declaration and a mandatory $12 local Covid Insurance case you get it here. ETA 30 day visa is $36 and then once here you can extend that by 60 days for $100 and then even a further 90 days for $150. People are so friendly, food is cheap and delicious, beers around 500 Rs which is around £2 for a 625ml bottle of Lion Beer, £4 will get you a main meal and some even cheaper than that.. local rice and curry is around £2 too. We spent first 2 weeks down in Unawatuna, then took another 2 weeks to go along the coast eastwards, ended up at Yala National Park. Saw Elephants, Leopards and Sloth Bear! Then spent 2 weeks going round Hill Country, so Ella - Haputale - Nuwara Eliya - Kandy. Now back at Unawatuna for NYE and my birthday party this weekend, and then up to Colombo for a couple of nights for my actual birthday and out for nice dinner, hotel etc. We will then go up towards Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura to explore the ancient cities for a week, then even further north for another week to explore Jaffna and then back down the West Coast.. and if got time left, back to the beach for the last week or so 😛 Masks are meant to be worn outside and obviously in shops, markets etc. Most tourists dont bother on the beach or walking about, but will put them on indoors or on a bus etc. Apart from that, no other restrictions really, Covid cases/deaths are fairly low... hopefully stays that way!
  8. Sri Lanka for 3 months, due back via France middle of February
  9. Great news, as due to come back in February. Been having thoughts that it would be as bad as returning last February, but so far seems it might actually be a piece of piss..... which is a bit of shame as actually was looking forward to extending our stay away a further 3 months 😁
  10. Will be other stuff on 16th/17th too
  11. Was gonna post that here but forgot lol
  12. Spot on... its the best value festival out there!
  13. Let's sort it for 2022 then.. about time we did it right 🤣
  14. Another exciting announcement from BT towers.. with more still to come.. amazing value 😎😀
  15. Am sure I read they only sold 15,000 tickets the other week, with 70,000 applications. And that they have held back tickets for those with "the most wonderful ideas that people want to bring to life in the Garden".
  16. The issue I had with that junction was that during the build week, we had one security company at that point and at either end of the road plus the corner, to control the traffic as Southern Water vehicles had priority. Come show days, and the security contractor had changed, no communication with the other 3 points on the road and obviously a shit load of pedestrians. And as the security contractor had staff go AWOL or not even turn up, it was a nightmare and thankfully there was a few screwed on Oxfam bodies to help out there, and a spoke to a few of them about it and the issue with people wandering up the road to Fairlee Road too!
  17. Ah maybe I seen/spoke to you, I was running the gate/one way system at Gate A4 and popped down there a few times as security went AWOL at various points, mainly in the mornings!
  18. It was reduced this year due to Covid, my info came direct from the event operations manager when he was driving us round the site on the build. Also several articles in the press also state the same. https://www.islandecho.co.uk/isle-of-wight-festival-2021-close-to-selling-out-but-tickets-still-available/#:~:text=Around 50%2C000 revellers will lap, special guest Sir Tom Jones. https://www.countypress.co.uk/news/19130477.isle-wight-festival-2021----line-up-capacity-september-vibes/ https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-56534537
  19. IOW Infact I think they reduced it from 55k, not sure if that includes staff/artists.
  20. 55k this year, where did you get 70k from?
  21. *whole population* - Not including the load of immigrant brits etc who can't get it as yet!
