  1. Hoping to see Labrinth at Glastonbury, his show at Coachella was sick.

Angele would be nice as well, but seems like she's booked elsewhere.

Coachella's lineup seems a bit more relevant and modern than Glastonbury this year. Letting AM, GnR and Elton John headline the same year is just so, so disappointing.

  2. I think I have too much of my well-being tied up in the festival season. I can barely watch my favorite concerts from Glastonbury, 'cause I get this existensial dread that I will never experience that feeling ever again.

Knowing that most of the tickets for next year are already gone makes it suck even more.

Yes a customer who has already purchased a very sought after product. I cant see Glastonbury saying right its cancelled through no fault of anybody BUT we are going to scrap your ticket and hopefully you might get one in October but then again you might not.

Sometimes things we look forward to in life get cancelled. Glasto 2020 and 2021 are two separate events. It would be nice if this year's ticket holders could get tickets for next year, but I can't see how the festival is in any way obligated.

The people who’ve bought tickets every year for (in my case) well over a decade and in the case of others many more? Yes they do. There is plenty of goodwill towards the festival but they’d be especially unwise to do anything to damage that in these now unprecedented times.

When emily and michael have gone on record stating that they don’t take for granted that it sells out instantly and that theyre only one incident away from insecurity or not selling out - this *is* that incident!! Potential economic ruin is just around the corner. They’d be insane to piss off 2020 ticket holders by not giving preference for 2021

You're forgetting all the hundreds of thousands of people who will ble glad they have a chance of going next year.

Glastonbury 2021 will sell out in minutes no matter what, especially because of how much hype the cancellation will create. I think people will have higher expectations of next year than they had of the 50th anniversary.

  5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this must be the earliest the first poster has been dropped in years?

I have tickets for Roskilde, trying for tickets for Glastonbury in the resale of course, but nothing on that poster excites me as much as The Strokes at Roskilde does. It's weird, but both festivals seems to have given a big middle finger to rock bands this year.

Interesting, would not have considered that despite it sounding fairly obvious.

I wonder would it be higher though than the number from the UK travelling to Northern Italy, or the likes of Austria.

The way people move around these days, and with the virus' incubation time, it will probably explode in most countries in due time.

At least if countries doesn't immediately start banning large gatherings of people.

Any idea why Sweden and Norway have been hit so hard in the last few days? To me the growth in these two countries was higher than I would have expected, unless they are popular hot-spots for Italian tourists or something. Can't find any info on how many tests they have carried out either to see if it is higher than the norm

Lots of Norwegians spend their winter holiday skiing in Northern Italy.

  8. Here in Norway right now everything is being cancelled. Our national health institute today recommended that all arrangements with over 500 participants be cancelled or postponed.

If England finds itself in the same situation in a month or two, I can see Glastonbury being cancelled. And with over 50.000 people gathered at Anfield tonight, and how many thousands at this weekends Premier League round + all the other places where a lot of people gather, it's difficult to see how you will be able to contain the virus moving forward.

Right now we can't be afraid of what will be cancelled or not. It's about doing everything to avoid our elderly and sick catching the disease.

  9. In April 2018 I started running for the first time in my life and in April 2019 I completed both a marathon and an ultra marathon. Being in such good shape made Glastonbury so much better. I couldn't believe the difference. Constant energy to do whatever I wanted, no back pain from standing up for hours, not needing more than a couple of hours of sleep each night... was amazing.

  10. Still haven't gotten over this show. The energy of Janelle was out of this world.

I do wish the crowd would be a little more unhinged though. Manye people close to the stage were stood just watching instead of dancing/singing/getting involved.

How does "if you try to grab my pussy cat, my pussy grab you back" not get a rousing singalong?

Back to tattoos ...Ive been considering a Glastonbury one for years ... but I think id have to spend quite some time designing it .... and could I handle the pain ?

Would spend the time finding the correct artist, whose style you love, and work out the design with him/her.

I have a black grey realism Glastonbury tattoo, and it took me so long to find a tattoo artist that wanted to do the Pyramid stage, due to all the details, but when I finally found the right artist it turned out great.

Omg I noticed this twice! Passing on wed and I think I was stood behind you during Swimming Girls, South Park tattoo on the other arm?

Yea, that's me :) Was really looking forward to Swimming Girls, was great until she lost her voice

I think if I tried getting a similar tattoo on my arm, the only bit that would fit on would be the speaker ?

Good excuse to start eating obscene amounts of shitty food!

  14. Watched it yesterday. They were great, even though I find most of the songs a bit boring. I take it Robert Smith usually isn't that animated and happy?

Thought Vampire Weekend got it right this year. You have to bridge from Miley and Kylie to The Cure somehow, and a mid-tempo stroll through some of the best clever-clever indie rock of the past 10 years was just the trick.

Conversely, as much as it pains me to say it, The National scuffed this up rather noticeably in 2017. Had their chance to nail an 'Elbow moment' and just played five unreleased songs in a row. Bad call.

    A tricky slot indeed.

The National is the biggest failure I've seen in that slot, for the reason you listed and ending with Turtleneck, and they are my favorite band. Also a mistake on the festival's part for putting the band in that slot.

Other notable duds imo are Black Keys (felt so flat) and Beck (people were exhausted/uninterested/just waiting for Coldplay).
