On way back from mary wallopers in camden ,17 hr round trip but worth it , Pleasure to see young people enjoying a ggod night out embracing irish songs that have been given a new twist Reminds me of early pogues gigs raw and full of energy

Billy joel at hyde park in july up there with one the best gigs ive been too in many a year Still sounds great and would be great on the farm but ive got a feeling he will announce retirement from gigging after residency in new york ends or when he does his news years eve gig

Another vote for billy joel definitely headliner worthy or legend slot either would be fantastic,he was excellent at hyde park managed to grab 2 tickets on twickets when i got back from glasto ,one of those if i dont go ill regret it situations just glad i went absolutely brilliant night

After seeing billy joel in hyde park ive no doubt he would go down a storm on the farm , fantastic showman and still got the pipes not bad for 74

I remember in 2007 i decided to have a break from the festival so we decided to go to London for a few days as the weekend got closer i realised id made a mistake and went on a bit of a downer ,mrs cidy understood and was very understandable. So on the day of departure to london we boarded the train ,and guess where it stopped ,bloody castle cary with a platform full excited festival goers and i have to admit i got quite emotional and vowed not to miss another one by choice. Will be interesting to see how i feel next year. I have always done the festival as cheap as possible take own booze and food etc ,last few years we camped in ashcombe car park ,no lugging gear in as i find the queuing and the hassle of leaving on monday a pain ,been stuck in carparks over the years too many times Only 15 min walk to gate D Which was a doddle . So next yer i wont try to avoid it like 2007 but enjoy the coverage and remember the good times

So this yer was my 25th glasto and have decided thats me lot, i admit i have retired from going more times than sinatra announced he retired from touring ,but times are a changing . Enjoyed this year immensely but the buzz seems to have gone so at 60 seems a good time to quit ( remember my late dad saying when i was 40 ,"dont you think its time you gave up Glastonbury,") over the years both my kids have gone and finally mrs cidy made it twice . It is truly a magical place and i have plenty of fantasic memories and will look forward to watching it on tv next yer in me garden Finally got to see cat Stevens so not a bad way to bow out.
