the problem with a statement like this is that so many people see Glastonbury differently - and a festival which is like (say) the Avalon Stage is very different to a festival which is like (say) the John Peel Stage.
I get it though, although I'm not looking for a festival the same as Glastonbury, but one which is as satisfying ? kinda thinking it might be a weird blessing not getting tickets, enjoyed this year so much more cause we'd had a break, although I'd not be saying that if I had tickets I reckon??

I use a Quechua Fresh and Black tent. I even managed to sleep in till 11 some mornings. There were people sleeping on the beach every night as their tents were too hot.
11am is decent! I tied a tarp between mine and mates tent and slept under that when my tent turned into a greenhouse at glasto! Don't think I could do it outside UK though!

I went to Sziget this year in Budapest when I didn’t get tickets. It seems to be the only festival that can compete with Glastonbury in terms of scale. I’ve been a couple of times now so can definitely recommend it. Although camping for 7 days in 36 degree heat is certainly a challenge.
Yeh that's pretty brutal, got a hotel for beni a few years ago, fuck camping in that it was roastin! Mind you glasto this year wasn't much cooler!!

I was lucky enough to get tickets this year and cannot wait, but just wanted to give Bilboa BBK a big thumbs up and would recommend.
Lineup was good last year, the festival is medium sized and was enough room with enough different tents/areas, very nice campsite with showers a proper supermarket, bar/stage and amazing views + well organised shuttle bus system to get you to the festival site but also to Bilboa city centre.
The music does not start till late i think the strokes started about 1.30am and goes on all night which was a plus for me as we would have a lay in then spend the day in the city eating, drinking, sightseeing, you can even get the metro to the beach and then make your way back and watch the music later in the day.
Sounds similar to benicassim, goes on till 7am eh? ????? Basque Country is sweet too

You should throw Beautiful Days into the mix, check it out. It's a very Glastonbury-like festival, much smaller though obvs
Mates of mine highly rate end of the road ?

Awesome advice guys, many thanks! Will have a look about, has Anyone been to South America? Thinking if I'm missing Glastonbury I may as well go hard! I'll be well past 40 the next fallow year so maybe now it's the time ?♀️?♀️

I wouldn’t bring in a loyalty scheme for repeat visits. Or any other system that means more merchandise you buy meaning a higher place in the queue. Shocking move by Taylor Swift doing that.
However if a loyalty system was brought in then I would only give priority to those who have volunteered for previous years.
Totally agree squirrel, I was just having a chortle at the niavety of the lovely woman who kindly brought me onto this earth, her innocent chat brings me a lot of comedy moments ?

I mean going back some groups got through pressed back and reentered next group glasto caught on to this and i believe stopped this but theres always some computer nerd find a new technique but will it work who knows me staying to normal in getting tickets if i do but if i don't well thats it
This would explain how you get through to payment and it won't process, in theory the server shouldn't allow more people to that stage if there aren't enough tickets available , never thought of that before

When I told my mum I didn't get a ticket she was affronted ? according to her I've been so often I should have some sort of privilege/ loyalty card ?♀️ fact is its the best way they can sell the tickets, as others have said a ballot would allocate some tickets to people who aren't really arsed, then they would need to reprocess them anyway

So obviously there's nothing that compares to Glastonbury but is anyone considering going somewhere farther afield to fill the void of not getting tickets? I've done the resale before and I don't think I can put my summer on hold on a whim, any suggestions?

Haven't managed to read all 29 pages so apologies of this has been posted already.
One for the ladies, if you hold on to the bottom of the long drop door and lean back you will (providing your average height) hover over the hole... doubles as a stabliser after a few ciders and keeps the door closed if the lock is broken ?

Yep second for the spike bar in the glade, fiver a cocktail and three quid a shot, sure they do jugs if I remember correctly. Fluffy rock used to do 2 for a tenner but I think they've been taken over by someone else as they were more expensive and no where near as strong last year

Elbow-one day like this always makes me well up. Remember walking through the markets one year in the pissing rain and the clouds just parted, sun shone through and one of the stalls had it playing loud.... Gives me goosebumps just writing this! Less than 2 weeks people!!!

Just bought a pack of kids foam jigsaw mats to make the floor of my tent a little comfyer to walk about on, 12quid on Amazon

I reckon we're going to get something soon, elo were announced on this day last year and the changes to the website (sale page going live, kindof) make me hopeful! Probably just the confirmation of Ed though.... meh

If one of my friends gets through and is getting me tickets, what happens if I then get through also and decide to get myself and other friends a ticket.
Basically would I end up with 2 (1 obviously getting cancelled at a later date) or would one of the processes be rejected.
Just a thought I've been pondering over, not obsessed with getting tickets or anything........I was trying for my brother in my group, unknown to me so was a friend in another, got all the details in and as my brothers ticket had been bought already it kicked me out and the rest of us lost out, lucky in the resale though thankfully!

Thought so, cheers for the confirmation!

Hi guys anyone know if you can select different coach times for people on the same booking?

Thank you so much guys! Just been sat in the queue for blue after being knocked back from Orange! Turned the car around in pilton and low and behold! Empty car park! Wtf are they thinking?

Not sure if it's been said but the pub in the village usually closes during the festival, think Eavis actually pays them to do so.
If you only do one thing at Glastonbury make sure you...
